Abstract: A collection of compressible particles. The compressible particles are intended to be used for attenuating pressure build-up within a confined volume such as a trapped annulus in a wellbore. Each of the compressible particles is fabricated to collapse in response to fluid pressure within the confined volume, and comprises carbon. Particularly, each of the particles comprises a plurality of peripheral openings, permitting an ingress of wellbore fluids in response to an increase in pressure within a trapped annulus. The collection of compressible particles together has a reversible volumetric expansion/contraction of ≥10% and up to 25% at pressures up to 10,000 psi. A method of attenuating annular pressure buildup within a wellbore using the collection of compressible particles is also provided.

Abstract: A wellbore isolation assembly includes an outer component and an inner component. The outer component is disposed at a first location in a wellbore. The inner component is disposed at a second location in the wellbore. The inner component is moved from the second location into engagement with the outer component at the first location to form a barrier within the wellbore. When deployed in the wellbore, the barrier inhibits passage of fluids. The wellbore isolation assembly is then retrieved from the wellbore.

Abstract: A stage cementing tool has a mandrel defining a central flow passage and a plurality of fully open cement flow ports. A packer disposed about the mandrel is movable from an unset to a set position. An opening sleeve is movable in the mandrel from a closed position to an open position in which the flow ports are exposed to allow flow therethrough. The opening sleeve is operable to move the setting sleeve to set the packer against the wellbore as it moves in the mandrel from the closed to the open position.

Abstract: An apparatus for injecting an accelerating fluid into an oil well includes casing open at the ends into which a cement flows and positioned inside the well forming an annular zone with its walls. The casing includes a hollow cylindrical body with lateral surfaces integral with the casing internal surfaces and a central hole through which a cement flows, with a lower horizontal section than the casing section. The apparatus includes hollow internal chamber with an accelerating fluid; one or more body inlet devices, which put the body and chamber in fluid communication. The inlet devices are positioned on one of the hollow cylindrical body base surfaces. The apparatus includes at least one body outlet devices, which puts the chamber in fluid communication with the conduit through the central hole, positioned radially with respect to the cylindrical body axis and along the central hole internal surface.

Abstract: A method includes attaching a fiber optic cable to a cementing tool configured to attach to a cementing plug displace cement in a hydrocarbon well. The method can also include deploying the cementing tool in the hydrocarbon well to cause the cementing plug to begin releasing cement to form to displace cement to form a cement sheath in the hydrocarbon well. Additionally, the method can also include receiving, by a sensor receiver at a wellhead of the hydrocarbon well, a signal with cementing data as the cement sheath cures. Furthermore, the method can also include determining whether the cement sheath is curing properly. A system and a non-transitory computer readable medium are also provided.
