Abstract:
A light box has a glass plate with a grounded conductive sheet on its underside, and a light within the box; a charging bar is moveable above the plate to provide electrostatic clamping of film to the plate, and an ion generator causes ions to flow over the plate to prevent dust from accumulating on the film. A method includes electrostatically adhering a film to a support, positioning art work and a transparent film successively over the first film, and electrostatically adhering the films together while causing a flow of ions over the films and art work to prevent dust adherence to the film.
Abstract:
A METHOD FOR ALIGNING A PRINT IN A PHOTOGRAPHIC PLATE PRINTING MACHINE WITH RESPECT TO THE EDGES OF FINISHED COPY MADE IN AN OFF SET DUPLICATING MACHINE IS PROVIDED. THIS IS ACHIEVED BY FIXING IN PLACE, PHOTOGRAPHING AND MAKING A PRINTING PLATE OF SOM ARBITRARY FIGURE OR ART WORK, INSTALLING THE PLATE IN THE OFFSET DUPLICATOR AND MAKING AT LEAST ONE TEST PRINT OF SMALLER DIMENSION THAN THE ORIGINAL PRINT. THE TEST PRINT IS PLACED ON THE PLATE MAKING MACHINE AND ALIGNED WITH THE ORIGINAL WORK. THIS REPRESENTS THE ALIGNMENT OF THE EDGES OF THE COPY PAPER WITH RESPECT TO THE POSITION OF THE WORK ON THE PLATE
MAKING MACHINE. A TRANSPARENT GRID LINED SHEET IS THEN PLACED OVER THE TEST PRINT TO RECORD THE ALIGNMENT AND NES PLATES AND COPY MADE THEREFROM WILL BE IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE COPY PAPER EDGES.
Abstract:
An information-storage system comprises a diazo-reproducible film-record card and a receptor or copying card treated with diazo compounds and carrying a strip of blank film also treated with diazo compounds. The reproducible film record card may be of the type adapted to be processed at high speeds by automatic tabulating or sorting machines and may comprise a sheet form card composed of transparentized paper stock having at least one cutout or aperture formed therein for receiving a strip of film containing a microimage and means for retaining the film within the cutout. The transparentized paper stock has an actinic transmission percentage enabling simultaneous diazo-reproduction of both data printed on the card and the microimage contained on the film. The receptor or copying card may include a card capable of being machine-processed in automatic sorting machines and has an aperture or cutout located coincidentally with the cutout of the reproducible card and mounts a film having a side or face surface thereof coated with diazo compounds and exposed.
