    摘要: The device holds the ends of insulating mats against the inside walls of air ducts at the ends of the ducts where frame pieces form external glands on the ducts. The frame piece has a stay which rests on the outside of the air duct wall and a stay which rests on the inside of the air duct wall. The inner stay is bent back on itself and with multiple bends forms a longitudinally opening pocket which has a transverse-running catch strip with a v-shaped groove form at its free end, pointing towards the inner stay. A cross-connecting spot weld connects the outside stay, the duct wall, the inside stay and the bent back portion of the inner stay. A u-shaped, plastic holding strip, which is large enough in cross-section to hold the edge of the insulating mat, has a catch strip portion which is complementary to the catch strip portion of the pocket and can be flexibly inserted in the pocket so that the edge of the insulating mat can be inserted in the space between the outer wall of the u-shaped holding strip and the catch strip on the bent back portion of the inner stay.

    摘要: A joint assembly for connecting the ends of a pair of generally rectangular sheet metal duct sections includes a pair of frame members secured to each other and connected to the respective duct end portions. The frame members each have four flange portions with an upstanding channel shaped leg and an angularly extending duct receiving leg. Four angular corner pieces extend into the adjacent channel portion of the upstanding legs to form the generally rectangular frame. The end portions of the ducts are positioned in longitudinal openings in the duct receiving leg and are rigidly secured thereto by spot welding or the like. The frame members connected to the ducts are secured to each other by bolts or the like extending through adjacent corner pieces to rigidly connect the ends of adjacent duct sections. The upstanding channel shaped leg of the angle flange portion has an inturned rebent portion that forms a longitudinal pocket between the rebent portion and the lower wall of the duct receiving leg. A longitudinally extending gasket is positioned in the pocket in sealing relation with the end of the duct wall. The corner pieces have angularly extending legs with longitudinal concave recessed portions therein that exert a force along the transverse dimension of the legs and prevent the inturned rebent portion from bending away from the duct end wall.

    摘要: A sealed lay-in electrical conduit duct which is oil-tight and is comprised of U-shaped sealing collars which telescope into adjacent ends of aligned open ended sheet metal duct sections which are troughs generally U-shaped in cross-section and have their open sides unobstructed throughout their length and closable by a movable sealing trough cover. The sealing collars and duct sections have telescoping bottom and side wall portions, each of which carries elongated cooperating interengaging rib and groove elements which are aligned and extend normally to the longitudinal axis of the duct sections. Each collar member carries a sealing element extending throughout substantially its entire length which covers and seals the line of juncture of the adjacent ends of trough sections held in rigid aligned relation by the collar member. A closure member carrying sealing elements covers the open area between the ends of the side walls of each collar member and cooperates with the sealing trough covers to complete the seal of the duct in the areas adjacent the joined ends of the duct sections.

The angle means includes a pair of flanges adapted to extend along interconnecting walls of the ducts, and each flange has inside end surfaces at opposite ends adapted to be attached to an adjacent duct wall. Corner rib means extends transversely of said angle means outwardly of the flanges away from the duct walls along the joint and includes a rib receiving recess defined therein for receiving an end portion of a joint connector used for interconnecting the adjacent edges of the duct walls.
