Abstract: A combined stepladder and work platform assembly is provided. The assembly comprises a top frame having two side rails and footplate, a back frame pivotally attached to the back side of the top frame and having two side rails, and a front frame pivotally attached to the front side of the top frame and having two side rails. Link bars are provided so that they maintain steps horizontal together with the side rails of the front frame. Four braces secure the back frame and front frame with the top frame at a certain angle when the assembly is used as a work platform. The front frame, the top frame and the back frame form a triangular shape while the back frame is parallel to the floor when the assembly is used as a stepladder.

Abstract: A foldable walkway may include a platform having a first end and a second end longitudinally opposite the first end, a ladder pivotally coupled to the first end via a first pair of pivot joints, and a pair of supports pivotally coupled to the second end via a second pair of pivot joints. The ladder and the platform are configured to be manually pivoted about the respective first and second pairs of pivot joints. The ladder includes a first portion pivotally coupled to the first end of the platform via the first pair of pivot joints, a second portion movably coupled to the first portion to increase or decrease an extent of the ladder, and a spring having a first end coupled to the first portion and a second end coupled to the second portion.

Abstract: Ladders, ladder components and related methods are provided. In some embodiments, adjustable stepladders are provided which include locking mechanisms that enable height adjustment of the ladder through application of a force towards the rails of the ladder. In other embodiments, spreader mechanisms are provided with cross bracing located and configured to provide additional stability to the ladder while also incorporating a handle that enables efficient collapsing of the ladder while reducing the potential of pinching ones hands or fingers. In another embodiment, a device is provided for selective coupling with the ladder that includes a support or safety rail and an adjustable tray. The device may be coupled with the ladder in a number of different positions including a stowed position. In another embodiment, a hinge assembly is provided having a magnetic component configured to be magnetically coupled with and temporarily store an object on the ladder.

Abstract: A dual-use ladder and bridge modular system preferably includes tubes, gussets, flanges, and/or joints. In a preferred embodiment, the tubes, gussets, flanges, and/or joints are made of carbon fiber. In one embodiment, a removable platform converts the segmented ladder system into a bus assault ladder/platform. Another preferred embodiment includes a bridge conversion kit. Yet another preferred embodiment includes a stretcher cover. When none of the bus assault platform, the bridge conversion kit, or the stretcher cover are needed, the ladder can be used as normal, or stored in a carry bag.

In some embodiments, a platform is provided that is fixedly coupled with a rail assembly of a combination ladder. The platform may pivot between a useable position or state and a stowed or stored position or state. A plurality of vertical braces are each attached to respective ones of the fasteners, the vertical braces each having a mounting hole proximate each end, and extending between two of the plurality of rings. Abstract: Self-locking bi-foldable load bearing segments are disclosed that can be used in applications such as ladders or ramp. First and second sections of the segment are foldably coupled to transition between an open configuration and a folded configuration. The first and second sections can include rungs pivotally attached to rails that can be further transitioned from the folded configuration to a collapsed configuration, but not transitioned from the open configuration to the collapsed configuration. Openings in the side walls of the rails allow the rungs to pivot in one direction, but not an opposite direction. In the open configuration, the openings of the first and second sections may be oriented opposite, and the direction of allowed rotation of the rungs of the first section and second section are opposite, restricting compression of the rails together. In the folded configuration, the openings of the first and second sections can be oriented the same to allow rotation of the rungs and compression of the rails together.
