Abstract:
A support system for supporting a work surface, such as a floating roof during maintenance of the associated tank. More particularly, the present disclosure is directed to providing a system composed on elements which can be transported without constrictive spaces, assembled within work area, and employed to provide support to a structure above and to provide a safe working environment therein. The support system includes four support members, each having a jack, a lower, and a cap, eight connectors which fix the support members in relation to one another and provide rigidity, and may include two connecting shafts to permit simultaneous adjustment of two jacks on a side of the support system.
Abstract:
An assembly upon which a user stands includes a platform. The assembly includes a first work stand and a second work stand. Each work stand has a front frame and a rear frame. The assembly includes a first plank adapter engaged with the first work stand. The first plank adapter has an attachment portion and a bar. The assembly includes a second plank adapter engaged with the second work stand. The platform rests on is supported by the first and second plank adapters. The present invention pertains to a work stand for holding a platform upon which a user stands. A plank adapter that is engaged with a front frame of a work stand to hold a platform. A method for a user to stand above ground. A method for forming a work stand.
Abstract:
A scaffold includes a first end frame assembly. The scaffold includes a second end frame assembly. The scaffold includes a first side brace assembly supported by the first end frame assembly and the second end frame assembly. The scaffold includes a second side brace assembly supported by the first end frame assembly and the second end frame assembly. Each end frame assembly has a first rail with holes and a caster assembly and a second rail with holes and a caster assembly and a horizontal that is attached to each rail. Each side brace assembly has a locking pin in proximity to each end which engages with a hole in a respective rail, and an associated guard disposed about each pin. Each locking pin has a handle which has a length that extends below the associated guard on an interior side of the guard. A method for a scaffold.
Abstract:
A vehicle and method for tending to an elevated livestock cage includes a support frame, a base, a drive unit, and an elevated platform. The support frame extends upward from the base, and the drive unit is operatively attached to the base for moving the base along the aisle. The elevated platform is affixed to the support frame and is positioned above the base at a height suitable to facilitate access to the elevated livestock cage. The support frame and the elevated platform are configured to support an operator while moving the operator along an aisle of a confinement facility.
Abstract:
A foldable work platform is disclosed. The foldable work platform includes legs on the exterior of the platform for increased stability while allowing the legs to fold coplanar to the platform when the foldable work platform is in its stored configuration. The legs are also configured to fit within the profile of the platform and attached to the platform at a location which allows the legs to fit within the length of the platform. The legs include a support, on which the platform rests when the foldable work platform is in its in-use configuration.
Abstract:
A scaffolding safety device is mountable to a scaffolding structure having a pair of spaced apart vertical structures and a platform horizontally extending therebetween for supporting a worker. The device comprises an elongate body, a pair of connectors and a safety line. The elongate body defines opposite longitudinal ends and each connector is positioned at or near a respective longitudinal end for being connected to a respective one of the spaced apart vertical structures thereby providing the elongate body to be horizontally disposed between the spaced apart vertical structures. The safety line comprises resilient material mounted at each longitudinal end thereof to or near a respective one of the longitudinal ends of the elongated body for horizontally and slackingly extending along a least a portion of the longitudinal length of the elongated body. The safety line provides for connecting a safety harness worn by the worker thereto. During accidental fall of the worker from the platform, the safety line provides for absorbing a force from the worker's weight via the harness.
Abstract:
An adjustable staircase includes an upper stair, a lower stair, a first bar and a second bar. The vertical distance between the upper stair and the lower stair is adjustable. Also, each bar is coupled to each of the upper and lower stairs, and the first bar is configured to function as a guard. As a result, the first bar blocks a pinch point between the first and second bars.
Abstract:
A carriage assembly includes a carriage frame, a caster, and a first jack body coupled to the carriage frame and the caster. The first jack body has a longitudinal axis. The first jack body is configured to selectively move the caster with respect to the carriage frame along the longitudinal axis.
Abstract:
A stepping platform includes an upper step platform and a lower step platform. The stepping platform may be manually moved from a stored position to a deployed, and vice-versa. The upper step platform includes a tread surface and side walls that cooperate to define a cavity into which the lower step platform fits when the stepping platform is in the stored position. The lower step platform also includes a tread surface and side walls. In one embodiment, a height of the lower step platform is about half of an overall height of the upper step platform. Further, both platforms may include tread surface areas sized to support both feet of a standing adult.
