摘要: The present disclosure relates to V and F-codoped cobalt hydroxide nanowires electrocatalysts V—Co(OH)2 comprises vanadium (V) at less stable 4+ oxidation state and fluoride (F) ions codoped directly on carbon cloth electrode. The V—Co(OH)2 produces excellent oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity in alkaline conditions. The present disclosure also relates to a method of fabrication of the V and F-codoped cobalt hydroxide nanowires electrocatalysts V—Co(OH)2 comprising vanadium (V) at less stable 4+ oxidation state and fluoride (F) ions codoped directly on carbon cloth electrode by hydrothermal reaction.

摘要: There is disclosed an electrolyser (10, 20, 50) for operation at supercritical conditions, in which chambers (200, 210, 520) for retaining respective fluid reaction products are separated by a porous wall which permits a flow of electrolyte fluid therethrough and which inhibits a reverse flow of the respective reaction product. A controller is to control flow control equipment to maintain supercritical conditions for the electrolyte fluid. There is also disclosed a method of operating an electrolyser, and methods of manufacturing compound porous electrodes for such electrolysers.

摘要: The present invention provides an alkaline water electrolysis anode such that even when electric power having a large output fluctuation, such as renewable energy, is used as a power source, the electrolysis performance is unlikely to be deteriorated and excellent catalytic activity is retained stably over a long period of time. The alkaline water electrolysis anode is an alkaline water electrolysis anode 10 provided with an electrically conductive substrate 2 at least a surface of which contains nickel or a nickel base alloy and a catalyst layer 6 disposed on the surface of the electrically conductive substrate 2, the catalyst layer 6 containing a nickel-containing metal oxide having a spinel structure, wherein the nickel-containing metal oxide contains nickel (Ni) and manganese (Mn), and has an atom ratio of Li/Ni/Mn/O of (0.0 to 0.8)/(0.4 to 0.6)/(1.0 to 1.8)/4.0.

摘要: Catalyst sputtering-based methods of facilitating forming a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) catalyst layer are provided. The methods include forming a catalyst ink, including obtaining a powder including a plurality of support particles, and depositing, via sputtering, a catalyst onto the plurality of support particles to form a supported catalyst for the catalyst ink. Further, the method includes providing the catalyst ink with the supported catalyst on a membrane to facilitate forming the catalyst layer of the membrane electrode assembly.

摘要: In this disclosure, a process of recycling acid, base and the salt reagents required in the Li recovery process is introduced. A membrane electrolysis cell which incorporates an oxygen depolarized cathode is implemented to generate the required chemicals onsite. The system can utilize a portion of the salar brine or other lithium-containing brine or solid waste to generate hydrochloric or sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide and carbonate salts. Simultaneous generation of acid and base allows for taking advantage of both chemicals during the conventional Li recovery from brines and mineral rocks. The desalinated water can also be used for the washing steps on the recovery process or returned into the evaporation ponds. The method also can be used for the direct conversion of lithium salts to the high value LiOH product. The method does not produce any solid effluent which makes it easy-to-adopt for use in existing industrial Li recovery plants.

摘要: Gas diffusion electrode suitable for use in carbon dioxide electrolyzer and methods for making the same. According to one embodiment, the gas diffusion electrode may include a gas diffusion layer and a catalyst layer coupled to the gas diffusion layer. The gas diffusion layer, in turn, may include an electron-conductive domain and a non-conductive hydrophobic domain. The electron-conductive domain includes a plurality of pores. The non-conductive hydrophobic domain randomly occupies a portion of the volume of the pores of the electron-conductive domain and is, itself, sufficiently porous to permit gas transport through the electron-conductive domain, for example, by incompletely filling the pores, thereby leaving spaces in the pores, and/or by being made of an inherently porous material. The electron-conductive domain may be in the form of a metal mesh, a carbon paper, or similar structures. The non-conductive hydrophobic domain may be in the form of sintered polymer particles.
