    摘要: A three-dimensional selectively actuating interface system includes mating complementary raised and recessed surfaces, which may be projected in the shape of an indicium, such as a trade logo or trade mark, to limit the number of spatial relationships at which two sub-parts of an assembly may be assembled. Additional complementary opposing surface irregularities disposed on the raised and recessed surfaces provide a further mechanical restriction in a height direction on the number of possible spatial relationships at which the two sub-parts may be matably assembled. Combined, there is only a single spatial orientation at which the two sub-parts may be assembled. In addition, an electronic switching or detection system may be implemented, which is activated by the proper mating of the two sub-parts. The detection system acts an electronic switch for turning on (or off) another system coupled to the assembly.

According to one embodiment, a fuel dispenser includes a hose and nozzle combination that receives fuel to dispense to the customer's vehicle. The fuel dispenser includes a user interface having a display and a virtual keypad that is adapted to receive customer input associated with a transaction at the fuel dispenser. The fuel dispenser also includes a control system coupled to the user interface and adapted to determine when customer input is required for the transaction, activate the virtual keypad to facilitate entry of the customer input, receive the customer input from the virtual keypad, deactivate the virtual keypad after the customer input is received, and process the transaction based upon the received customer input.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer program products for performing temperature standardization of the volume of a liquid product from a distributor to a consumer. Using a volume measurement device and a temperature measurement device located at a rack, a storage tank, and a dispenser, a gross volume and temperature of the liquid product at, respectively, the rack, the storage tank, and the dispenser can be measured. Volume data indicative of the gross volume and temperature data indicative of the temperature can be generated. A time-stamp system at each of the rack, the storage tank, and the dispenser allocates a time-stamp to each of the volume data and the temperature data so that a reconciliation process can use each of the time-stamps, the temperature data, and the volume data to reconcile gross to net volumes at a single point in time.

    摘要: An automatic fueling system includes a pump having a telescoping arm capable of placement in three-dimensional space, a flexibly mounted nozzle on the end of the arm and a docking cone to mate with the fuel port on a vehicle. A camera provides a view of the side of the vehicle on a monitor with guides visible to the operator of the vehicle to assist in locating the vehicle within range of the pump. A light and a camera located adjacent to the nozzle are used to recognize retro-reflective light from an annular target about the intake port. Multiple approximations of the distance and location of the intake port are made with the nozzle moving closer to mating with the intake port. A data link is provided through the mated nozzle with a keypad accessible by the vehicle operator. The vehicle includes a control actuator which selectively couples actuator cables associated with the fuel door and the fuel inlet valve with the emergency brake cable to engage the emergency brake, open the fuel door and open the inlet valve. A vacuum system on an evaporation canister insures that vapor is drawn from the fuel tank as it is being displaced by incoming fuel.

The valve includes an element for engaging corresponding structure in a receptacle for receiving the contents of the container. The element engages and locks the valve in the receptacle when the valve is opened and the contents are being discharged from the container into the receptacle. The valve element and the corresponding structure on the receptacle cooperate so that the container can only be received in and removed from the receptacle when the valve is closed. In this manner, the contents in the container can be discharged only when the container is received within the receptacle and the container is rotated in a direction to open the valve.

    摘要: By providing a securely locked product dispensing valve assembly mounted to a product bearing container which requires a specially constructed cooperating adapter for opening the valve assembly, a controlled dispensing system is realized which provides complete controlled distribution of any desired chemical product. By employing the present invention, only authorized personnel are able to open the container incorporating the valve assembly, enabling the contents to be transferred into only suitable containers incorporating the required adapter for unlocking the valve assembly. As a result, control over the distribution of the chemical product is attained and a completely closed loop, spill-free system is realized. In addition, a rinsing head is provided for being cooperatively associated with the product bearing container and valve assembly to enable complete cleaning of the container prior to recycling.

The coupling member defines a first fluid passage and a second fluid passage. The second fluid passage comprises at least one fluid channel circumferentially extending along the first fluid passage so that high purity fluids may be drawn out of the outer container through the first fluid passage and filled into the outer container through the second fluid passage.

    摘要: The present invention is a system for handling high purity liquid and a method for the same. The system has a container with a mouth. A cap, including a first key element, is coupled with the mouth. A connector is coupled with the cap. The connector includes a connector head, a probe, and a second key element. The probe extends from the connector head and is insertable through a center of the cap and into the mouth of the container. The probe has a flow passage. The second key element is configured to mate with the first key element. The system also includes a pump coupled with the probe and with the flow passage. The pump pumps fluid through the probe and the flow passage. The system also includes a sensor for sensing when the first and second key elements are mated and for sensing when the first and second key elements are not mated. Finally, the system includes a controller coupled with the sensor and the pump. The controller enables the pump when the sensor senses that the first and second key elements are mated and disables the pump when the sensor senses that the first and second key elements are not mated.
