The channel state information includes a first part and a second part. The first part includes a total number of non-zero coefficients in a precoding matrix indicator PMI, the second part at least includes a second group, the second group includes non-zero coefficients of m ports corresponding to a first polarization direction and non-zero coefficients of n ports corresponding to a second polarization direction, and both m and n are positive integers. The technical solutions of the embodiments of this application can ensure the precoding effect of the network-side device.
