    Abstract: A solid state diaphragm device is constructed by the use of an electrochromie material. Prior to an initiation of a shutter operation, the above-described solid state diaphragm device is supplied with a predetermined amount of driving current flowing in a direction to excite the electrochromie material for production of a color, thereby the size of density of aperture of the diaphragm is adjusted to the aperture information given from the camera body.
