Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a first user equipment (UE) that is out-of-coverage of a base station and a second UE that is in-coverage of the base station may support signaling exchanges for transmitting or receiving a discovery message, an essential system information block (E-SIB), common SIB updates, or on-demand SIBs within a relaying network before and after a relay connection between the first UE and the second UE. The first UE may receive the discovery message and the E-SIB via same or different signaling and may acquire or decode the E-SIB according to various techniques. The first UE may receive common SIB updates via a dedicated logical channel between the first UE and the second UE and the first UE may initiate on-demand SIB acquisition after establishment of the relay connection and based on a connection type of the first UE.

Abstract: A first wireless device establishes a first connection to a second wireless device and establishes a second connection with a network entity via the second wireless device. The first wireless device transmits a message to the network entity via the second wireless device, the message indicating that the second connection is a remote connection. The second wireless device establishes the first connection with the first wireless device to relay traffic between a network entity and the first wireless device and establishes a connection with the network entity to relay the traffic between the network entity and the first wireless device. The second wireless device receives a configuration from the network entity for the second connection between the network entity and the first wireless device for relaying the traffic to the second wireless device.

The aspect includes generating, by a UE, a mapped EPS security context associated with an intersystem change of the UE from a 5G system to an EPS, wherein the mapped EPS security context comprises security parameters created based a 5G security context used for the 5G system, the security parameters enabling security-related communications between the UE and a network entity; determining an UL NAS COUNT value and the DL NAS COUNT value for the mapped EPS security context; and transmitting, by the UE, a NAS message to the network entity, the NAS message including the UL NAS COUNT value of the mapped EPS security context.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques that may be applied, for example, in a multi-slice network for maintaining privacy when attempting to access the network. Abstract: One aspect relates to initiating, by a device, a connection with an application server associated with one or more application services. A gateway derives an uplink network token and/or a downlink network token. The tokens are provisioned to the device and/or an application server over the user-plane. The tokens are included with uplink and/or downlink packets, respectively. Another aspect relates to receiving a data packet at a gateway. The gateway determines a requirement for a network token from the packet. The gateway derives the network token based on a device subscription profile maintained by a network. The network token may be sent with the packet to a destination address associated with the packet. A packet including a network token may be received at a gateway. The gateway may verify the network token and send the data packet to an application server or a device if the verifying is successful.

Abstract: Aspects relate to user equipment (UE) to user equipment (UE-to-UE) relaying in a communication system. At least two remote UEs and a UE-to-UE relay receive provisioned security information from the wireless communication network, where the security information includes discovery parameters and relay security information. The security information provisioned by the wireless communication network is used to establish a connection between the two UEs and the UE-to-UE relay device including discovery of the UE-to-UE relay by the remote UEs. Furthermore, the provisioned security information is used to establish a secure connection between the two remote UEs via the UE-to-UE relay device.
