    Abstract: Dynamic User Equipment (UE) beam switching for millimeter wave (mmWave) measurements in asynchronous networks is discussed in which a UE configured with a plurality of UE beams receives timing information of detected cells in an asynchronous network, and calculates, based on the timing information, a maximum offset for the detected cells indicating a timing difference between a pair of cells of the detected cells that is larger than a timing difference between any other pair of the detected cells. A UE beam switch from a UE beam to another UE beam of the plurality of beams is scheduled based on the maximum offset, which includes using the maximum offset to determine how often the UE beam switch can be performed. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may determine a set of scheduled synchronization signal transmission times. A first subset of the set of scheduled synchronization signal transmission times may be allocated for dynamic measurement. The wireless device may select at least one candidate beam from a set of candidate beams for a dynamic measurement during one of the transmission times in the first subset. The at least one candidate beam may be selected based at least in part on a fairness metric, a signal strength metric, a timing metric, or a combination thereof. The wireless device may perform a measure procedure on the selected at least one candidate beam and may transmit a measurement report based at least in part on the measure procedure to another wireless device (e.g., a base station).

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first reference signal (RS). The UE may identify a set of UE beams based at least in part on signal strengths of the first RS as measured via at least one UE beam of the set of UE beams.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) are described. Aspects of the described techniques may include the user equipment measuring signal aspects for a plurality of respective receive beams for receiving communications associated with a synchronization signal block transmitted by a base station on a transmit beam. From the measured signal aspects, the UE may determine that a receive beam from the plurality of receive beams is a preferred beam for receipt of communications from the base station transmitted on the transmit beam. With the determined preferred beam, the UE may initiate a beam-sweeping procedure to re-measure the plurality of UE receive beams, where the UE measures the first UE receive beam before measuring others of the plurality of UE receive beams.

    Abstract: Example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for wireless communication configured for estimating a channel using a set of predefined sensing beams to measure reference signals. Estimating the channel may include generating an N×N channel correlation matrix, where N is a number of antenna elements in the antenna array. The implementations further include generating a set of dynamic beam weights to maximize a reference signal received power (RSRP) based on the estimated channel. The set of dynamic beam weights may be based on an eigenvector of the channel correlation matrix.
