    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless device may receive, for communications with one or more of a base station or another wireless device, information identifying that an uplink transmission on a sidelink and a downlink transmission on a sidelink are to precede an uplink transmission on an access link and a downlink transmission on an access link. The wireless device may communicate, with the one or more of the base station or the other wireless device, based at least in part on the information identifying that the uplink transmission on the sidelink and the downlink transmission on the sidelink are to precede the uplink transmission on the access link and the downlink transmission on the access link. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for forward/retransmitting a data transmission to a target UE through a helper UE. A helper UE may receive a data transmission from a network node, determining whether the received data transmission is intended for a target UE or for the helper UE itself, based on a control message, and retransmitting the data transmission to the target UE upon determining that the data transmission is intended for the target UE. A network node such as a base station may transmit a control message to at least a help UE, the control message comprising an indicator of whether a data transmission is intended for the helper UE or a target UE and transmit the data transmission to at least the helper UE and the target UE.

    Abstract: A first user equipment (UE) is configured to communicate with a second UE in sidelink communications using a sidelink configured grant (CG) configured by a base station. The first UE receives, a radio resource control (RRC) message or physical layer signaling including a sidelink configured grant (CG) configuration indicating at least some parameters configured by a base station for sidelink communications between the first UE and a second UE. The first UE transmits or receives a transport block for the sidelink communications on a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) based on the at least some parameters.

    Abstract: A device may use sidelink request and sidelink response (e.g., DSS/STS and DRS) resources (in a sub-band) of different sizes depending on whether the sub-band is a primary sub-band or secondary sub-band. The device may transmit more information in the request/response resources of a primary sub-band than in the request/response resources of a secondary sub-band. The device may transmit small amounts of information in its request/response resources in secondary sub-bands. The resources in the secondary sub-bands may include, for example, reference signals, and signals indicating occupation of the sub-band. The device may utilize tone signaling for request/response signaling in the secondary sub-bands (at least because the amount of information being conveyed in the secondary sub-bands is small) and digital signaling in the primary sub-band (at least because the amount of information being conveyed in the primary sub-band is large in comparison to that being conveyed in the secondary sub-bands).

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided which may be used in a base station and/or user equipment (UE) to help determine whether device-to-device (D2D) communications in a shared radio frequency spectrum may be employed between UEs. For example, a base station may send a request to a UE indicating that the UE monitor a wireless signal transmission from another UE, and subsequently receive a report based on a resulting D2D channel measurement. The base station may determine whether the monitoring UE and the monitored UE are D2D communication candidates based, at least in part on the received report.

    Abstract: User equipments (UEs) may transmit periodic discovery broadcasts to enable another UE to establish a relay connection to a network. When the UEs transmit respective discovery broadcasts, the discovery broadcasts may cause excessive utilization of network or battery resources. In some aspects, described herein, a first UE, based at least in part on failing to receive a periodic discovery broadcast, may transmit a search signal. A second UE may refrain from transmitting periodic discovery broadcasts based at least in part on a first energy metric not satisfying a first energy metric threshold, but may transmit a discovery broadcast as a response to the search signal based at least in part on a second energy metric satisfying a second energy metric threshold, thereby enabling the first UE to establish a connection to a base station using the second UE as a relay.
