Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to systems, devices, apparatuses, products, and methods for wireless communication. For example, a communication system may include a repeater having a first communication interface that receives a control message that indicates a measurement configuration for a second communication interface of the repeater that is different than the first communication interface. The repeater receives, via the second communication interface, a first signal at the repeater from a first device. The repeater also measures a power metric associated with the first signal based on the measurement configuration. In some implementations, a base station or another device (e.g., UE), may communicate with the repeater and take one or more actions based on the power metric measured by the repeater.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station such as a eNodeB (eNB), a next-generation NodeB or giga-NodeB (either of which may be referred to as a gNB)), an indication of a value of a channel quality parameter of a wireless link including a first beam pair between the UE and the base station. The UE may also transmit, to the base station, side information different from and in addition to the indication of the value of the channel quality information, and receive, in response to the transmitted indication of the value and the transmitted side information, an indication of resources for the UE to use to communicate on the wireless link.

Abstract: At a receiver, errors may occur in estimating phase trajectory based on PT-RS due to a window effect. In order to address the problem of such errors, a transmitter determines at least one location for inserting PT-RS samples into a sequence of a plurality of samples, wherein a first set of the samples comprises a first number of samples at a beginning of the sequence and/or a second number of samples at an end of the sequence, and wherein the at least one location for the PT-RS samples is within a second set of the plurality of samples. The apparatus inserts the PT-RS samples into the sequence based on the determined at least one location and transmits a signal based on the inserted PT-RS samples. A receiver extracts the PT-RS samples and estimates phase errors for data samples in the received transmission based on the extracted PT-RS samples.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to communicating random access information and uplink control information. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) or other suitable apparatus transmits physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) information concurrently with random access channel (RACH) information transmitted by another UE or other apparatus. For example, the RACH access information and the PUCCH information may be frequency division multiplexed orthogonal tones. The disclosure relates in some aspects to using downlink-uplink (DL-UL) channel reciprocity to determine symbol and/or tone locations. For example, a base station or other suitable apparatus may initially sweep across different directions in different time slots to transmit signals during a synchronization sub-frame. A UE or other suitable apparatus can then find an appropriate RACH symbol from its best synchronization beam index and transmit PUCCH information in those symbols.

A first wireless device may receive a first beam measurement report from a second wireless device, the first beam measurement report indicating a first set of beam measurements for a wireless channel between the first wireless device and the second wireless device. The first wireless device may transmit to the second wireless device a cluster validity metric for at least one beam in the first beam measurement report. The first wireless device may receive from the second wireless device, in response to transmitting the cluster validity metric, a second beam measurement report indicating a second set of beam measurements for the wireless channel. The first wireless device may select a beam for transmitting to the second wireless device based at least in part on the first and second beam measurement reports.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for wireless communication at a base station with improved PBCH construction and decoding. The base station apparatus constructs a PBCH payload, wherein a bit location is selected for encoding a plurality of bits of the PBCH based on an estimated reliability for the corresponding bits location wherein the plurality of bits comprises frozen bits, unknown bits that are unknown to a user equipment, and potentially known bits that are potentially known by the user equipment. The apparatus transmits the PBCH payload in at least one of a plurality of SS blocks. A UE receiving the PBCH decodes the PBCH based on a successive decoding order. The successive decoding order may be based on an estimated reliability for the corresponding bits, e.g., in which potentially known bits are decoded prior to unknown bits.

Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication selects a recommendation for the need. The apparatus selects the resource to transmit a phase tracking reference signal based on a condition of a communication system. The apparatus performs at least one of transmitting an indication of the selected recommendation for the resource to a second wireless communication device or transmitting at least one of information or a reference signal to the second device to assist the second device in determining the resource. In an aspect, the selection may be made based on receiving a request for a recommendation from the second wireless communication device or the transmitting the at least one of the information or the reference signal are based on a request received.
