Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may determine that a serving base station supports multi-code and single-code transmissions, receiving a scheduling message having a cyclic redundancy check scrambled with a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), determine resources for communicating with the serving base station based on the scheduling message, and communicate on the resources using coding associated with the single-code transmissions. A base station may identify at least one user equipment that supports single-code transmissions, transmit a scheduling message having a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled with a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI), wherein the scheduling message schedules the at least one user equipment for communication on resources using coding associated with the single-code transmissions and communicate with the at least one user equipment on the resources using the coding.

Abstract: Aspects directed towards reserving resources for sidelink communications are disclosed. In one example, an initial sidelink communication is transmitted which includes an indication of resources reserved for a subsequent sidelink communication. A transmission restriction is applied for the subsequent sidelink communication based on a transmission characteristic associated with transmitting the initial sidelink communication. The subsequent sidelink communication is then transmitted according to the transmission restriction.

In some aspects, a target user equipment (UE) may receive a channel state information (CSI) reference signal (RS) from a source UE via a sidelink communication; determine that a lower-layer determined source identifier of the source UE is included in a set of upper-layer determined source identifiers; and transmit a CSI report in a media access control (MAC) control element (CE) as a response to the CSI RS, based at least in part on the determination that the lower-layer determined source identifier of the source UE is included in a set of upper-layer determined source identifiers. Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for managing release of resource reservations for sidelink communications are provided. At least one resource reservation is determined from a resource pool having time-frequency resources allocated for sidelink communications with one or more user equipments. Control information that includes an indication of the at least one resource reservation and an indication of whether the at least one resource reservation is releasable is transmitted. A determination of whether to reclaim the at least one resource reservation is made, based on the control information. A set of resource reservations is selected from the resource pool for sidelink communications, based on the determination.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sidelink feedback in resource pool. A first user equipment (UE) can determine a slot, from a resource pool including a plurality of slots allocated for sidelink communications, for providing hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback to a second UE via a sidelink channel. The determination may be based on a physical slot index or a logical slot index. The first UE may send the HARQ feedback on the sidelink channel in the slot, or refrain from sending the HARQ feedback, based on the determination. Abstract: A sidelink device is capable of balancing latency and reliability while accounting for priority in sidelink based communication. A sidelink device determines an exclusion parameter for excluding communication resources for transmitting a data packet over a sidelink channel. The sidelink device selects, based on the exclusion parameter, communication resources for an initial transmission of the data packet in a first contention window (CW). The sidelink device transmits the data packet using the communication resources selected for the initial transmission in the first CW. The sidelink device selects, based on the exclusion parameter, communication resources for a retransmission for the data packet in a second CW after the first CW. The sidelink device transmits the data packet using the communication resources selected for the retransmission in the second CW.

Abstract: A base station maps code blocks of a transport block of a transport block size (TBS) for a channel using tone-level interleaving or resource element (RE)-level interleaving. Then, the base station can transmit the code blocks of the transport block of the TBS for the channel. A UE may receive the channel from the base station and de-interleave the received tones of the channel in a frequency domain to obtain the code blocks of the transport block having the TBS for the channel.
