Abstract: A network device is provided with excessive interference mitigation. In one implementation, the network device transmits a notification of the excessive interference to a network entity. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A method at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving signaling that indicates a carrier aggregation (CA) configuration (having carriers configured for UL and downlink (DL) data transmissions) and an auxiliary uplink (UL) configuration (having carriers configured for UL reference signal transmissions). The method also includes receiving a resource assignment on a DL carrier of the CA configuration, and transmitting an aperiodic sounding reference signal (A-SRS) using the one or more carriers of the auxiliary UL configuration based at least in part on the received resource assignment. Another method is performed by a UE having a CA configuration and an A-SRS configuration, including receiving a resource assignment on a DL carrier in the CA configuration, detecting a trigger for transmitting an A-SRS, determining UL resources of the A-SRS configuration for transmitting the A-SRS, and transmitting the A-SRS on the determined UL resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A controller of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) may transmit a capability message indicating a capability of one or more configurable elements of the RIS to direct incoming signals in one or more directions for one or more frequency bands. For example, the configurable elements may have an ability to act as transparent to the signal, to direct the signal in an interference safe direction or frequency, and/or to diffuse the signal across multiple directions or frequencies. The controller of the RIS may control the one or more configurable elements in accordance with the capability message and an activity status of the RIS to direct a signal to at least one direction. In some cases, a network entity may transmit an indication of the at least one direction to the RIS controller.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for a thin control channel structure that can be utilized to enable multiplexing of two or more data transmission formats. For example, a thin control channel may carry information that enables ongoing transmissions utilizing a first, relatively long transmission time interval (TTI) to be punctured, and during the punctured portion of the long TTI, a transmission utilizing a second, relatively short TTI may be inserted. This puncturing is enabled by virtue of a thin channel structure wherein a control channel can carry scheduling information, grants, etc., informing receiving devices of the puncturing that is occurring or will occur. Furthermore, the thin control channel can be utilized to carry other control information, not being limited to puncturing information. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) and a base station may support beamforming communication techniques and may communicate using one or more beams. The UE may support a bandwidth part (BWP) hopping pattern and may perform a beam failure detection (BFD) procedure across the supported BWPs. While performing the BFD procedure, the UE may declare beam failure and may determine whether to switch to an anchor BWP to initiate a beam failure recover (BFR) procedure or to remain on an active BWP to initiate the BFR procedure. In some implementations, the UE may determine whether to switch to the anchor BWP or to remain on the active BWP to initiate the BFR procedure based on an indication from the base station.

Abstract: Aspects relate to random access procedures. A base station may transmit a random access response message to a user equipment (UE) on a downlink control channel at a first monitoring occasion and transmit at least one repetition of the random access message at at least one offset from the first monitoring occasion. The base station may also transmit an indication of the offset(s) to the UE. Upon receiving the indication of the offset(s), the UE may monitor for the random access response message on the downlink control channel at the first monitoring occasion and at the monitoring occasion(s) for the repetition(s). A UE may identify a first radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) used to affect a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) sent within a random access response (RAR) window and determine based on the first RNTI that the PDCCH is one of a plurality of PDCCH repetitions.
