Abstract: There is disclosed methods, apparatuses and computer program products for management of sidelink based relaying. In accordance with an embodiment, the method comprises obtaining information of sidelink resource pools related to sidelink communication in a wireless communication network; determining one or more prioritized resource pools from the obtained information of sidelink resource pools; obtaining information of candidate relay user equipments for sidelink communication from the determined one or more prioritized resource pools; prioritizing for reporting at least one candidate relay user equipment among the candidate relay user equipments based on the determined one or more prioritized resource pools; and reporting the prioritized at least one candidate relay user equipment to the wireless communication network.

Abstract: Embodiments concern managing traffic in a radio device. While classifying user-plane packets from multiple applications according to quality of service requirements, a specific user-plane packet is classified as/determined to be a predetermined special-type packet (e.g., the special-type packets establish a new TCP/IP connection for a newly activated application). Based on that, that specific user-plane packet is mapped to a pre-defined radio bearer associated with a preconfigured priority, for example a highest priority among all bearers to which any of these user-plane packets from the multiple applications are mapped. Then all the mapped user-plane packets are scheduled for transmission according to their respective priorities. For example, the specific user-plane packet could be a SDU having a SYN, SYN-ACK or ACK, and the network convergence sub-layer (NCS) constructs a L2 NCS PDU using a designated format with the SDU in the payload and context information in the header.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from improved network management. A method may include receiving an indication of a subset of a cluster of local cells at an ultra-reliable, low latency communications user equipment using multi-connectivity. The method may also include receiving rules for radio performance monitoring, wherein the rules include a packet error rate threshold for individual radio links of the multi-connectivity. In addition, the method may include determining based on the rules and the radio performance monitoring whether to skip the monitoring of one or more cells of the subset of local cells. The skip may be short-term or long term. Further, the method may include communicating to the subset a report based on the radio performance monitoring and whether to skip the monitoring of one or more cells of the subset of local cells.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) selects first and second radio resources from respective first and second pools of radio resources. In one example these are primarily allocated for contention-free and scheduling-based channel access, respectively. Content to duplicate in parallel communications is selected based at least on a characteristic of uplink data waiting to be sent (such as size) and/or on the selected first and second radio resources (such as timing difference between them). The UE transmits the selected content on each of the selected first and second radio resources. In the examples the content to duplicate was selected from among the uplink data to send and a scheduling request message. In various embodiments one of these transmissions indicates it's a duplicate, and the duplicated scheduling request message is transmitted on the first resource with the uplink data. These teachings are particularly useful for URLLC data.
