Abstract: User equipment provides, to a network device, reference paging information generated according to a moving speed of the user equipment. The reference paging information is used by the network device to determine a paging area for sending a paging message. The network device receives the reference paging information generated by the user equipment according to the moving speed of the user equipment. The network device determines, according to the reference paging information, a paging area for sending a paging message to the user equipment. The network device sends, in the paging area, the paging message to the user equipment. The network device can determine the paging area according to the reference paging information, so that a paging resource waste in a paging process is reduced, relatively accurate paging is implemented, overheads of inter-network interfaces and air interfaces are greatly reduced, and system efficiency and stability are improved.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a communication method and a communications device. The method includes: sending, by a base station, a message including measurement configuration to UE, where the measurement configuration is used to request the UE to report a cell global identifier of a cell; obtaining, by the base station, a measurement report reported by the UE, where the measurement report corresponds to the measurement configuration and includes the cell global identifier of the cell and band information of the cell; and performing, by the base station, cell handover based on the band information and the cell global identifier of the cell. By means of the present invention, the base station obtains complete and accurate band information of the cell, so that the base station can perform accurate handover decision, thereby avoiding handover failure.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a communication method used for random access, including: receiving, by a terminal, random access preamble information sent by a base station; and before sending random access to the base station based on the random access preamble information, receiving, by the terminal, a random access response sent by the base station, where the random access response includes an uplink asynchronous hybrid automatic repeat request HARQ process identifier, and the uplink asynchronous HARQ process identifier is used by the terminal to send uplink data to the base station. Compared with the prior art, the communication method provided in the embodiments of the present invention can ensure to some extent that uplink data is transmitted timely and can effectively improve uplink data transmission reliability.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a wireless local area network WLAN measurement and reporting method, and a related device. The method includes: acquiring, by a user terminal, WLAN group information, where the WLAN group information indicates at least one WLAN group; determining, by the user terminal, whether at least one WLAN in the WLAN group satisfies WLAN measurement configuration information; and reporting, by the user terminal, a measurement result of the at least one WLAN in the WLAN group to a base station when the at least one WLAN in the WLAN group satisfies the WLAN measurement configuration information. Therefore, a signaling resource can be saved, thereby reducing signaling load caused by simultaneous reporting of a large quantity of WLAN measurement results.

Abstract: The present invention provides a cell selection method and apparatus. The cell selection method includes: sending, by a non-access stratum of user equipment UE, network list information to an access stratum of the UE, where the network list information includes a list of forbidden networks and a list of forbidden networks for a GPRS service; determining, by the non-access stratum, indication information about a cell selection priority according to an operation mode of the UE; and sending, by the non-access stratum, the indication information to the access stratum, so that the access stratum selects a suitable cell according to the network list information and the indication information. The present invention can effectively prevent the UE from entering a state of being able to normally camp but unable to obtain a normal service, thereby improving user experience.
