Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing support for large data sets are provided. Example embodiments provide a Big Data Object Library “BDOL,” which defines data structures and routines for handling big data objects using out of memory techniques. In one embodiment, the BDOL defines a bdFrame object which stores the data in binary form in a cache on an external storage medium, such as a file on a disk. The example BDOL provides support for user defined block processing a bdFrames using a pipeline engine. Also, the BDOL provides for Trellis plots, and other charts, of big data objects using hexagonal binning. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
A hub has an inner surface defining a bore centered on an axis, an outer surface surrounding the inner surface, and two slots extending in radially opposite directions from the bore to the outer surface. A shaft is configured to be received in the bore and has a circumferentially extending groove. A bent wire spring clip is configured to engage and mechanically interlock the hub and the shaft. The clip has a C-shaped section, two diametrically opposed bowed sections extending from opposite ends of the C-shaped section, and a two straight end sections respectively extending from ends of the two bowed sections to two distal ends of the clip. The clip is configured to have an installed position in which the bowed sections of the clip extend circumferentially in the groove at opposite sides of the shaft, and the end sections and the C-shaped section extend radially outward through the slots.
Abstract:
A water-soluble pouch suitable for use in machine dishwashing and which comprises a plurality of compartments in generally superposed or superposable relationship, each containing one or more detergent active or auxiliary components, and wherein the pouch has a volume of from about 5 to about 70 ml and a longitudinal/transverse aspect ratio in the range from about 2:1 to about 1:8, preferably from about 1:1 to about 1:4. The water-soluble pouch allows for optimum delivery of dishwashing detergent. A process for the manufacture of multi-compartment pouches and a pack to contain the pouches are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for flattening thin substrate surfaces by stretching thin flexible substrates to which ICs can be bonded. Various embodiments beneficially maintain the substrate flatness during the assembly process through singulation. According to one embodiment, the use of a window frame type component carrier allows processing of thin laminates and flex films through various manufacturing processes. The flexible substrate is bonded to a rigid carrier. The carrier is placed into a specialized fixture comprising a bottom plate and a top plate. The bottom plate with raised regions is created that allows the windowed region of the flex film to be pressed flat. After aligning the top plate, the bottom plate, and the middle structure, the plates are pressed together causing the raised regions to push the flex film substrate upward and around the carrier. By pressing the thin substrate upward, the substrate is stretched like a drum head over the raised sections of the bottom plate, thereby flattening the substrate. The die assembly site is held flat overtop of the raised portion of the carrier to provide a stable vase for placement of the die.
Abstract:
An armature for an electric motor has a lamination stack on a shaft with a commutator mounted on one end of the shaft. Magnet wires wound in slots in the lamination stack, the commutator and armature shaft are at least partially encapsulated in a first plastic, such as by insert molding. The commutator has a commutator ring divided into a plurality of segments with slots between the segments that are filled with a second plastic when the commutator is made by molding a core of the second plastic, such as phenolic, in the commutator ring before the commutator ring is mounted on the armature shaft. Where the commutator is a tang type commutator, the commutator ring has notches at axial ends of the slots which is filled with the second plastic when the second plastic is molded. The mold used to mold the first plastic includes projections that extend between the tangs of the commutator and against the notches at axial ends of the slots of the commuter. The notches filled with the second plastic and the projections of the mold prevent plastic flash from getting into the slots of the commutator ring. In a stuffer type commutator, the commutator has inserts of insulative material extending part way into the slots of the commutator from an inner end of the commutator. The mold used to mold the first plastic has a portion that seals around the inner end of the commutator ring above the inserts to prevent plastic flash from getting into the slots between the segments of the commutator ring.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a wireless emergency alarm notification system for detecting a signal produced by a pre-existing smoke detector in a structure and for notifying persons in the immediate vicinity of a structure and in the surrounding area, as well as emergency personnel, of an emergency situation. The system includes a wireless sensor unit positioned nearby to a smoke detector for detecting an audible signal produced by the smoke detector in an emergency situation and a wireless receiver unit positioned on the exterior of the structure for receiving sensor signals from the sensor unit and activating an audible alarm and/or visible indicators. The sensor unit is comprised of a microphone for detecting a signal from the smoke detector, a control unit for determining the quality and/or quantity of the pre-existing smoke detector audible signal, a transmitter for transmitting an FM signal to a receiver, and a independent power source such as a battery. The receiver unit is comprised of an antenna, a FM tuner, FM receiver, power source, and a control unit for generating audible and/or visible alarms. In larger structures there may be numerous smoke detection systems each preferably having both a sensor unit and a receiver unit.

Abstract:
In one embodiment, harmful solar cell polarization is prevented or minimized by providing a conductive path that bleeds charge from a front side of a solar cell to the bulk of a wafer. The conductive path may include patterned holes in a dielectric passivation layer, a conductive anti-reflective coating, or layers of conductive material formed on the top or bottom surface of an anti-reflective coating, for example. Harmful solar cell polarization may also be prevented by biasing a region of a solar cell module on the front side of the solar cell.
Abstract:
A wheel lift-assist frame comprises a pair of support beams, which may be coupled with a tillage machine at first ends, each beam to the left or right of the center of the tillage machine respective and running rearward of the tillage machine. The support beams may also be coupled with a planter. A cross beam is coupled with the support beams at second ends thereof. A plurality of wheel assemblies are fixed to the cross beam at points such that the wheels run between rows created by the tillage machine.
