Abstract: Techniques are described for using computing devices to perform automated operations to generate mapping information via analysis of visual data of photos of a defined area, and for using the generated mapping information in further automated manners, including to display the generated mapping information via various types of visualizations corresponding graphical user interfaces. In some situations, the defined area includes an interior of a multi-room building, and the generated information includes at least a partial floor plan and/or other modeled representation of the building—in addition, the generating may be further performed without having measured depth information about distances from the photos' acquisition locations to walls or other objects in the surrounding building. The generated floor plan and/or other mapping-related information may be further used in various manners, including for controlling navigation of devices (e.g., autonomous vehicles), etc.

Abstract: A facility for determining a housing index value for a subject geographic region for a subject period in time is described. For each of the homes in a set of substantially all of the homes within the subject geographic region, the facility determines a set of home attribute values for the home; applies a first valuation model for the subject geographic region to the set of home attributes to obtain an estimated value of the home at the beginning of the subject period; applies a second valuation model for the subject geographic region to the set of home attributes to obtain an estimated value of the home at the end of the subject period; and determines an appreciation rate for the home on the basis of the obtained estimated of value of the home at the beginning of the subject period and the obtained estimated value of the home at the end of the subject period. The facility combines the appreciation rates determined for a subset of the set of homes to obtain an aggregate appreciation rate for the subject period, and combines the obtained aggregate appreciation rate for the period with a housing index value for a prior period to obtain the housing index value for the subject geographic region for the subject period.

Abstract: Techniques are described for using computing devices to perform automated operations related to providing visual information of multiple types in an integrated manner about a building or other defined area. The techniques may include generating and presenting a GUI (graphical user interface) on a client device that includes a computer model of the building's interior with one or more first types of information (e.g., in a first pane of the GUI), and simultaneously presenting other types of related information about the building interior (e.g., in additional separate GUI pane(s)) that is coordinated with the first type(s) of information being currently displayed. Abstract: Systems and methods for providing visual indications of time sensitive real estate listing information on a Graphical User Interface (GUI) are disclosed. To provide users with visual indications of real estate listings that may sell soon with respect to a given region, the system uses days-sold information, real estate listing attributes, and user interaction data corresponding to a set of real estate listings associated with a given region to train a machine learning model to generate a selling soon prediction. The system then provides a days-on-market value, a set of home attributes, and user interaction data associated with a subject real estate listing as input to the machine learning model. The system then generates a selling soon prediction by applying the machine learning model and generates for display, on a GUI displaying information of the subject real estate listing, a visual indication of the selling soon prediction.
