    Abstract: A chip resistor comprises an insulating substrate (component body) on which a resistor is formed, a connection terminal (front electrodes, end face electrodes, and back electrodes) formed at both end portions of the insulating substrate, an under layer formed by electrolytic plating to cover the connection terminal, a barrier layer formed by electrolytic plating to cover the under layer, and an external connection layer which is mainly composed of tin and formed on a surface of the barrier layer, wherein the barrier layer is made of alloy plating mainly composed of nickel and containing 3% to 15% of phosphorus, and the under layer is formed of a copper plated layer that is at least either more malleable or more ductile than the barrier layer.

    Abstract: A glass protective film 4 is formed such that boundaries of top surface electrodes 3a and 3b do not exist at the base of corner portions of the rectangular glass protective film 4 so as to eliminate level differences generating due to thicknesses of the electrodes. Use of such a structure may resolve the problem that when printing glass paste individually over chip elements of a chip resistor on a large substrate from which multiple chips will be obtained, corner portions of the glass protective film bleed (flow) to the outer side (dividing grooves).

    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a sensor unit that can detect a wide range of physical quantity changes with a higher degree of freedom than in the conventional art and is capable of reporting detection information, and a multiple-type sensor using the sensor unit. A flow sensor in the present invention includes a board, a sensor that is arranged on the board and detects a physical quantity change, a plurality of external connection terminals that are electrically connected to the sensor, and a reporting part that reports detection information of the sensor to the outside. In the present invention, a wide range of physical quantity changes can be detected with a higher degree of freedom. Connecting a plurality of sensor units enables use for various applications.

    Abstract: It is an object to provide a flow rate sensor device having improved sensor responsiveness compared with the prior art. The present invention is a flow rate sensor device (1) including a sensor element (3, 4) that detects a flow rate, wherein a sensor unit (10) on which the sensor element (3, 4) is mounted and a drive substrate (11) including a drive control circuit are connected through a connection portion (12) narrower than a width of the drive substrate (11). Thus, a heat source in the drive substrate (11) and a heat source in the sensor unit (10) can be separated by the connection portion (12) that is thin in width, and the thermal influence from the drive substrate (11) to the sensor unit (10) can be suppressed. Therefore, good sensor responsiveness can be maintained.

A chip resistor includes a resistor which is print-formed such that a first meandering portion is consecutively connected to a second meandering portion across a rectangular adjustment portion. The adjustment portion is provided with a first trimming groove to lengthen a current path of the resistor, thereby improving the surge characteristic while coarsely adjusting a resistance value of the resistor to bring it close to a target resistance value. Furthermore, a second trimming groove is provided in an area of the second meandering portion where a current distribution is small, thereby finely adjusting the resistance value of the resistor to make it coincide with the target resistance value in accordance with a cutting amount of the second trimming groove.
