摘要： A syringe assembly including a plunger rod separate and detached from a syringe barrel and a packaging member, the plunger rod having a sealing member and the packaging member having a first compartment and a second compartment is disclosed. With the syringe barrel received within the first compartment and the plunger rod received within the second compartment, the sealing member of the plunger rod seals the syringe barrel and the plunger rod within the packaging member. In this manner, the syringe assembly is placed in the packaging member in a manner that allows for reduced storage space of the syringe assembly.

摘要： A syringe assembly including a plunger rod having a first end, a second end, and a rod portion extending therebetween, wherein at least a portion of the rod portion is flexible is disclosed. The flexible portion of the rod portion allows a stopper to be moved between a first position and a second position within a syringe barrel while the overall length of the syringe assembly remains the same throughout the movement between the first position and the second position. In another embodiment, a syringe assembly including a restraining member adapted to communicate with the flexible portion of the rod portion such that movement of the first end of the plunger rod in a first direction actuates movement of the second end of the plunger rod in a second direction different than the first direction is disclosed.

摘要： A syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end. The syringe assembly further includes a stopper disposed within a chamber of the syringe barrel, a plunger adapter engaged with the stopper, and a plunger rod having first and second ends. The first end of the plunger rod is pivotally secured to the plunger adapter. The plunger rod has a pre-use position where the second end of the plunger rod is positioned adjacent to the syringe barrel, and a use position where the plunger rod is configured to displace the stopper relative to the syringe barrel. A recessed portion of the plunger adapter receives a portion of the first end of the plunger rod when the plunger rod is in the pre-use position and the use position.

The syringe assembly also includes a plunger rod having a first end associated with the cap and a second end, wherein the plunger rod is transitionable from a pre-use position, in which at least a portion of the second end of the plunger rod extends along a portion of a barrel sidewall, to a ready-to-use position in which the plunger rod is aligned with the stopper. Upon proximal movement of the sleeve in a direction away from a first end of the barrel, the plunger rod is configured for lateral movement with respect to the cap into the ready-to-use position.

In this manner, upon removal of the plunger rod and the syringe barrel from the packaging member, the plunger rod can quickly and easily be secured to the syringe barrel via the stopper for collecting a fluid and/or delivering a fluid.
