Abstract: Interference management with a coloring concept is discussed. A target transmitter may obtain a first priority schedule for a transmission opportunity of the target transmitter, wherein the first priority schedule identifies transmission priority for a plurality of base station groups. Each of the base station groups may include one or more base stations that are grouped according to various transmission criteria. The target transmitter will identify data for transmission and monitor the medium sensing slots corresponding to each of the base station groups for a medium reservation signal. The highest priority medium reservation signal may be determined out of any medium reservation signals detected during the monitoring, The highest priority medium reservation signal is determined according to the first priority schedule. Once identified, the data is transmitted by the target transmitter when the highest priority medium reservation signal corresponds to the target transmitter.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first wireless device may receive a clear to send signal based precoded based at least in part on a receive filter at a second wireless device. The first wireless device may calculate a transmit precoder based at least in part on the clear to send signal. For example, the first wireless device may calculate a whitening filter and a second filter based at least in part on the clear to send signal. The first wireless device may transmit a request to send signal precoded by the transmit precoder to initiate communications with a third wireless device without significantly interfering with ongoing communications at the second wireless device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a precoded reference signal to prevent interference with an incoming signal from a base station. The UE may determine a precoder for the reference signal based at least in part on a whitening matrix. In some examples, the UE may determine the precoder based at least in part on the whitening matrix and an effective channel between the base station and the UE. The precoded reference signal may be used by devices in other wireless communications systems to avoid interfering with a signal being received by the UE. In some examples, the UE may alternatively or additionally transmit an indication of the number of additional layers of the link between the UE and the base station that may be nulled out for a second link.

Abstract: Spatial listen before talk (LBT) with broadcasting or multicasting reception is disclosed. Aspects of the disclosure provide for managing spatial LBT transmissions between broadcast communication nodes and neighboring cells. In one aspect, the broadcast transmitter transmits a preamble that identifies the broadcast transmission durations and the non-broadcast durations in the upcoming transmit opportunity. The potential interferer would read the preamble and yield any transmissions during the broadcast durations. Additional aspects provide for a periodic broadcast clear-to-send (CTS) signal transmitted by the broadcast receivers. The interferer may use the broadcast CTS to perform spatial LBT during the broadcast durations. Further aspects allow the broadcast receivers to determine when potential interferers would cause interference above a threshold. In such circumstances, the broadcast receivers would send the CTS to allow the interferer to perform spatial LBT during the broadcast durations.

Abstract: Multiple modulation and coding scheme (MCS) tables for new radio (NR) networks is disclosed. Multiple MCS tables are defined with different sets of MCS values selected for improved performance in various transmission conditions. The multiple MCS tables may be known to base stations and user equipments (UEs) in the network. A serving base station may determine a set of transmission characteristics related to a transmission environment of a UE. The base station selects one of the MCS tables of the multiple MCS tables based on the set of transmission characteristics. The selected MCS table includes MCS values that may provide improved performance for the UE considering one or more of the characteristics of the set of transmission characteristics. The base station will then transmit an indication of the selected MCS table to the served UE.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to improving macro diversity are provided. A first wireless communication device communicates, in a frequency channel, a first signal with a user equipment (UE) during a first time period. The first wireless communication device coordinates, with a second wireless communication device, a communication of a second signal with the UE in the frequency channel during a second time period. The coordination with the second wireless communication device is based on a switch to coordinate with the second wireless communication device based on at least occupancy of the frequency channel. The second wireless communication device communicates, in the frequency channel, the second signal with the UE during the second time period based on the coordination. The first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device are different. The first time period and the second time period are different.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A device may use enhanced reporting mechanisms to support control information reporting on shared spectrum. In some cases, a device may utilize enhanced component carriers (eCCs) for data transmissions. In one example, the device may transmit control information (e.g., ACK/NACK, CSI, etc.) to a corresponding device using a CCA exempt transmission (CET). In another example, a device may report control information quasi-periodically. For instance, a device may be assigned a specified interval and a control feedback window for reporting control information (e.g., CSI). The window may provide a duration prior and subsequent to the specified interval during which a UE may transmit control information. For example, the device may perform a CCA reserving the channel for a duration that does not include the specified interval but may transmit feedback information based on determining the specified interval falls within the assigned window.

Abstract: Phase compensation in a new radio (NR) coordinated multipoint (CoMP) environment is discussed. A base station may synchronize the phase between one or more additional base stations in a CoMP group serving one or more user equipments (UEs). A base station estimates an uplink channel based on a sounding reference signal (SRS) received from a given UE. The base station transmits a phase synchronization reference signal (PSRS) modulated using the uplink channel estimate. The UE can measure the phase and/or timing drift from the PSRS and then will report the compensation information for the phase and timing drift back to the base station. The base station may then use the compensation information to adjust transmission characteristics for the CoMP group.

Abstract: Techniques for code block (CB) segmentation and rate matching in wireless deployments that may use CB-level feedback may provide that a transport block group (TBG) may include one or more CBs from multiple transport blocks (TBs). Such TBGs may support retransmissions of one or more CBs from different TBs within a TBG transmission. In certain examples, a TBG size may be determined, and a retransmission size associated with any CBs to be retransmitted are determined. Based at least in part on the TBG size and retransmission size, it may be determined whether a new TB may be included in the TBG.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for accessing a shared radio frequency spectrum band by selecting a subset antennas associated with a successful access procedure for accessing the shared radio frequency spectrum. In some examples, a wireless communication device, such as a network node, may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure for each of two or more subsets of antennas associated with the network node, and only those subsets of antennas that pass the LBT procedure are used for transmissions during the associated time period, while other antennas are idle, or used for transmissions on another radio frequency spectrum band during the associated time period. In some examples, antennas of a wireless communication device may perform an access procedure utilizing beamforming capabilities of associated antennas to determine one or more different spatial directions that may provide access to the shared radio frequency spectrum band.
