Abstract: A skills ontology includes classes of data that define skills possessed or demonstrated by employees of an enterprise. Specifically, sets of data may be received and segmented into strings of text referred to as utterances. The utterances may be provided to an NLU service/engine, which uses NLU techniques to process the utterances to extract intents and/or entities. Skills may be identified from within the extracted entities. New skill records may be added to the skills ontology for newly extracted skills. Employee profiles of the skills ontology may also be updated based on the actions being performed. Further, the skills ontology may be utilized to identify employees having the skills associated with tasks to be performed and assign the task to an employee for completion. Once the task as been completed, skills profiles of the employee in the skills ontology may be updated to reflect performance of the task.

Abstract: Provided is a method including obtaining a set of ontologies mapping n-grams onto concepts to which the n-grams refer in different respective domains of knowledge. The method includes receiving an update associating a first n-gram with a first concept and receiving information by which the update is associated with a given domain of knowledge. The method includes selecting a subset of ontologies by determining that the update in the given domain of knowledge is applicable to respective domains of knowledge of the subset of ontologies and that the first concept has a specified type of relationship to a subset of concepts to which other n-grams are mapped in the subset of ontologies. The method also includes storing, in response to the determination, associations between the first n-gram and the subset of concepts in at least some of the subset of ontologies in memory of the computer system.

Abstract: Text input data may be aggregated and mapped to create composite text input data for electronic records. A semantic event may be automatically detected, triggered by a semantic rule and associated semantic tag. The detected semantic event may be flagged, and a text mining result database may be updated by adding an entry to the database. An indication associated with the event may be transmitted, and a back-end application computer server may establish a hierarchy for multiple elements of the electronic records. The computer server may determine a weight variable and response variable for each element in the hierarchy and apply a hierarchical credibility weighting methodology to the elements from level 1, representing the least granular level in the hierarchy, to level n, representing the most granular level in the hierarchy, calculated recursively from level n, to determine a final estimated credibility for the electronic records.

Abstract: In response to receiving a text describing a news event, a centralized information provider applies semantic rules to the text to determine to which client attributes the text corresponds. The centralized information provider retrieves, from an electronic database, (i) identifiers for multiple clients, (ii) a set of client attributes for each of the clients, and (iii) for each of the clients, an identifier of a respective service provider. The centralized information provider then generates a metric of relevance of the news event for each of the clients, based on the client attributes of the client and the client attributes to which the text was determined to correspond. The centralized information provider transmits, to at least one service provider, an electronic alert message descriptive of the news event and an indication of a set of clients of the service provider for distribution to some or all of the set of clients.

Abstract: A method of automatically generating a terminology definition knowledge base (KB) includes mapping each word in a word sequence to a real value dense vector using dense vector representations. The word sequence is then processed using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to identify whether the word sequence includes a terminology definition and to label the word sequence with a label indicating whether a terminology definition exists within the word sequence. The word sequence is then processed using a Conditional Random Field (CRF) model to identify boundaries of the terminology definition in the word sequence. The terminology definition is then extracted and added to the terminology definition KB.

Abstract: Technology for the improved processing of search queries is provided. In one embodiment, methods may return semantically relevant search results for a search query. During a pre-computing offline processing, an inventory semantic index may be generated and may include inventory binary hashing signatures that are associated with inventory listings, such as goods or services for sell, and the index may be partitioned by categories and shards. When a search query is received, relevant categories are determined using a relevant category recognition service, and a search query binary hashing signature maybe generated for the search query. The relevant categories are searched to determine hamming distances between the inventory binary hashing signatures and the search query binary hashing signature, where the hamming distance indicates semantic relevance.
