Abstract: A cross-belt sorter (1) comprises a plurality of interconnected carriers (3) which are drivable behind each other in a conveying direction (X). Each of the carriers (3) is provided with a cross-belt (7) for supporting a product. The cross-belt (7) is drivable in a belt driving direction (Y) extending transversely to the conveying direction (X). A pushing element (25) is mounted to the cross-belt (7) for pushing against a product on the cross-belt (7) in the event that a product on the cross-belt (7) tends to move with respect to the cross-belt (7) in opposite direction of the belt driving direction (Y). The pushing element (25) has an upright orientation with respect to the cross-belt (7) and is supported in the belt driving direction (Y) by a supporting member (26) which is at least between opposite side edges of the cross-belt (7) fixed to the pushing element (25) and to the cross-belt (7) at respective distances from an intersection between the pushing element (25) and the crossbelt (7).

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for producing batches of products of a predefined configuration for palletizing in layers, said device comprising an upstream acceptance surface for the products, a downstream receiving surface for receiving the batches, and displacement means between the two surfaces formed by a series of rails and by a plurality of shuttles that can move independently of one another and that run on said rails, each shuttle configured to carry at least one product. This device is characterized in that the series of rails has at least one outbound rail configured to move the products from the upstream surface to the downstream surface, a return rail arranged beneath the outbound rail configured to return the empty shuttles to the upstream surface, and an upstream lifting rail and a downstream lifting rail configured to transfer the empty shuttles vertically between the outbound and return rails.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system (1) for conveying articles (3), which system comprises an article conveyor (2) extending from an upstream end (4) to a downstream end (5), and a motor-driven shuttle trolley (6) having an article carrier deck (7) and designed to dock with said ends of the conveyor so as to transfer an article between the trolley and the conveyor. The conveyor is a gravity conveyor under which a ramp (12) extends, and the trolley is suitable for travelling under the conveyor and is provided with a lever (11) that is mounted to move vertically relative to the deck and that is designed to co-operate with the ramp while the trolley is moving under the conveyor so that, by following the ramp, the lever moves between a retracted position in which it is retracted under the conveyor and a deployed position in which it projects above the conveyor so as to drive an article along the conveyor. The method of matching digital images of the same article in a data processor unit comprises the steps of: transforming each digital image of an article into a local divergence topographic map of the luminance gradient vector field; detecting singularities or extrema of local divergence in the luminance gradient vector field, such singularities corresponding to points of interest in said digital image; and, for each detected point of interest, encoding the values for the singularity of the gradient field that are located on a plurality of concentric rings centered on the point of interest so as to derive a digital data vector (210); and transforming said vector into a digital hash key (220) by means of a family of hash functions of the cosine Locality-Sensitive Hashing (LSH) type.

Abstract: A method of processing objects using a programmable motion device is disclosed. The method includes the steps of perceiving identifying indicia representative of an identity of a plurality of objects and directing the plurality of objects toward an input area from at least one input conveyance system, acquiring an object from the plurality of objects at the input area using an end effector of the programmable motion device, and moving the acquired object toward an identified processing location using the programmable motion device. The identified processing location is associated with the identifying indicia and the identified processing location is provided as one of a plurality of processing locations along a first direction. The step of moving the acquired object includes moving the programmable motion device along a second direction that is substantially parallel with the first direction.
