Abstract: An imaging system comprises an excitation light source, a directing element positioned to direct light from the excitation light source toward a sample, a detector configured to measure incoming light from the sample, a filter cavity positioned between the sample and the detector, a first filter configured to be inserted into the filter cavity, a sine filter configured to be inserted into the filter cavity, and a processing unit communicatively connected to the detector, configured to receive image data from the detector to form an image. Methods of constructing a hyperspectral image of a sample are also described.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for analyzing a biomechanical property of a medium using stimulated Brillouin scattering microscopy. The method can include a first step of applying a probe beam and pulsed pump beam to a target section of the medium, wherein the pump beam interacts with the probe beam to generate at least one acoustic wave in the medium and at least one Brillouin signal is produced as a result of the generated acoustic wave. The method can also include a second step of receiving the produced Brillouin signal and a third step of determining, using a processor and the Brillouin signal, information associated with at least one biomechanical property of the target section.

Abstract: A wide-field imaging and hyperspectral collaborative early warning system and method are provided. The system includes: a primary imaging system, a digital micromirror array, a first collimation system, a second collimation system, a first reflector, a second reflector, a wide-field imaging optical filter, a narrow-band optical filter, a wide-field imager and a hyperspectral interferometer. The system and method have the advantages that the wide-field imaging general survey and fine spectrum detection can be realized synchronously, the functions are multiple, and the false alarm rate is low; the target spatial resolution of the fine spectrum identification is adjustable, the micro-control unit flipping solution is simple to operate, and quick adjustment is realized; the adaptability is strong, the flipping time of the corresponding micro-control unit is adaptively adjusted for the measured target with too low or too strong radiation intensity, and the dynamic range of the system is effectively improved.

Abstract: A readout circuit for an amplitude modulating sensor includes a first and second wavelength light source; an optical coupler coupled to receive a first light signal from the first wavelength light source and a second light signal from the second wavelength light source; a frequency selector that allows for the first light signal to pass to the amplitude modulating sensor; and a detector system coupled to the optical coupler to receive the first light signal and the second light signal after the first light signal is modulated by the amplitude modulating sensor and independently detect the two signals. The detector system generates electronic signals representing the modulated first light signal and the second light signal and removes a common mode signal of the modulated first light signal and the second light signal, removing common mode noise or attenuation in the modulated first light signal.
