    摘要: This invention relates to an improved water-cooled air conditioner and in particular to one which comprises a main body. A condenser provided with a condensing coil is disposed in the middle portion of the main body. The interior of the condenser is filled with water, while the refrigerant is received in the condensing coil therein. An evaporator provided with a cooling coil is disposed in the lower portion of the main body. The cooling coil is connected to the condensing coil via an expansion valve. A cooling device serving as a cooling tower is disposed in the upper portion of the main body. A compressor is disposed on the outside of the main body to provide the heated refrigerant for the condenser and to receive the cooled refrigerant from the evaporator. A ventilating device is disposed around the condenser to provide a further cooling effect. A heating device is disposed in the lower portion of the main body below the evaporator to heat the water received in the evaporator.

    摘要: A heat exchanger of the shell and tube type particularly suitable as an intercooler between compression stages of a compressor is disclosed. The heat exchanger includes a generally cylindrical shell having first and second coil banks disposed therein. The banks are spaced from each other and from the wall of the shell. The incoming fluid flows between the heat exchange coil banks and outwardly therethrough, passing in heat exchange relationship with a fluid flowing through the coils. The fluid velocity is reduced, substantially minimizing carryover of liquid in the fluid, and directional changes in the fluid flow causes disentrainment of liquid. A sump is provided in the bottom of the heat exchanger for removing the condensed liquids, and separate demistors or separators are not required. Access to the coils for cleaning and/or servicing may be had through a manway disposed in the shell, or through an openable end of the shell.

    摘要: A steam surface condenser has its tube bundle arranged in a manner so as to have an outer zone of tubes for receiving cold water and surrounding an inner zone of tubes containing warmer water so that most of the condensing of the steam is in the outer zone. A gas cooling section is located in the outer zone adjacent the upper end of the tube bundle. Condensate trays are provided adjacent the cooling section at spaced points along the length of the tube bundle for receiving condensate. Conduits are provided for conveying the condensate from the trays to the exterior of the shell so that such condensate does not contaminate condensate in a hot well.

    摘要: A heat exchanger for cooling system compressed air dehumidifiers includes an inner body forming a dehumidifying passage provided with a cooler, an outer body surrounding the inner body and forming a precooling passage along the outer periphery of the inner body, an air supply port opened in the outer body through which compressed air is led into the precooling passage from one end thereof, a communicating hole opened in the inner body to guide the air led into the precooling passage out through its other end into the dehumidifying passage through one end thereof, and a plurality of heat transmitting pipes extending through the precooling passage in order to form an air-flow passage which guides the compressed air out of the other end of the dehumidifying passage to an air discharge port provided in the outer body. The heat of the compressed air in the air-flow passage which has been cooled and dehumidified in the dehumidifying passage and is flowing towards the air discharge port is exchanged with that of the compressed air of relatively high temperature in the precooling passage flowing from the air supply port towards the dehumidifying passage. In this manner, the heat exchanger simultaneously precools the compressed air to be dehumidified and heats already dehumidified compressed air. Further, by maintaining the outer body which forms the outer surface of the heat exchanger at a relatively high temperature dewdrops on the surface are prevented from forming.

A window is provided by arranging that the fins do not extend completely around the tube to allow the interior of the tube to remain visible.Additional cooling can be obtained by using forced draught from a fan and by blackening the surface of the heat sink.

    摘要: A system for supplying steam to equipment which uses the heat of the steam and not the pressure for performing work such as commercial laundry equipment. The system is a closed loop having a steam boiler which supplies steam directly to the equipment. A control valve regulates the amount of steam flowing through the equipment which determines the heat imparted to the equipment. The equipment is free of heat traps or other components which retard the flow of steam therethrough. The used steam flows into an improved condenser having a plurality of compartments which slows down the velocity of the steam to help facilitate the condensing process and to enable harmful air trapped in the condenser to be removed. Pumps remove the air from the condenser and maintain a vacuum within the condenser and steam return line from the equipment to maintain the steam flowing through the equipment at a desired rate. Cooling water circulates through individual coil groups within each condenser compartment for condensing the returning steam. The cooling water is heated by the steam and transferred to a hot water storage tank for use in other operations of the laundry.
