摘要： Fabric parts are fed to a sewing operation through a lap seam folder and the overlapped edges of the parts are maintained in proper relationship by a pair of rollers engageable with the respective parts and mounted for rotation in respective planes of rotation which intersect the feedline of the parts approaching the sewing needle. The rollers are mounted on pivotally supported arms which are operably connected to respective pneumatic cylinder type actuators for moving the arms between operative and retracted positions and for adjusting the biasing force on the arms in accordance with the type of fabric being fed through the seam folder device. The biasing forces on the rollers may be adjusted by adjusting the plane of rotation with respect to the feed direction as well as by the biasing force provided by the respective actuators.

摘要： A device for the finishing of at least one lengthwise edge of a sheet of material, which at least on the one lengthwise edge has a lengthwise strip which is thinner than the remainder of the sheet of material, in that the finished lengthwise edge runs parallel to the lengthwise edge of the sheet to the side bordering the different material thicknesses, and at least two scanning devices are provided, responsive to the variations of thickness of the sheet. One scanning device is arranged to scan the lengthwise strips of the sheet which are thinner and the other scanning device is arranged to scan the sheet in its area of greater thickness. The two scanning devices are positioned transverse to the direction of movement of the sheet and are spaced so that they normally scan the sheet close to the lengthwise edge thereof, on the side bordering the different material thicknesses. If the lengthwise edge deviates to the side in one or the other direction, one or the other scanning device responds, and a drive motor is actuated correspondingly to cause the transverse adjustment of the finishing units, including the scanning devices. In this manner, the sheet is finished on the lengthwise edge exactly parallel to the adjacent lengthwise edge bordering the different material thicknesses on the side.

摘要： A sewing machine for simultaneously forming a plurality of spaced seams disposed in parallel relation. The machine includes a pair of spaced needle bars and needle clamps for supporting stitching needles. Adjacent each needle bar a presserfoot bar is provided for supporting separate presserfoots on their lower ends. Below each presserfoot there is a cooperating feed dog and below each feed dog a separate looper for controlling the lower threads during the formation of chain stitches. To form the stitches simultaneously, all of the machine's stitching instrumentalities, including the stitching needles, presserfeet, feed dogs and loopers, are operatively interconnected so that their movements occur at the same time.

The upper portion of the guide slot extends at an angle relative to the slide rod. 摘要： A fabric-guiding apparatus for guiding a fabric layer across a line of fabric feed along a side edge of the fabric layer, including a detector sensing the side edge of the fabric layer and generating a detection signal, a guiding wheel rotatable about an axis parallel to the line of fabric feed, a pressure exerting device for exerting a contact pressure urging the guiding wheel into engagement with the fabric layer, and a first drive motor to rotate the guiding wheel for laterally moving the side edge of the layer into position prior to a sewing cycle. The pressure exerting device comprises a pressure adjusting mechanism to adjust the contact pressure, a second drive motor to actuate the adjusting mechanism, a drive circuit responsive to command signals, a memory storing command data relating to the command signals, and a control circuit. The control circuit supplies to the drive circuit a certain number of the command signals for changing the contact pressure in predetermined increments prior to the sewing cycle, updating the memory upon every supply of the command signals to the drive circuit, outputs a rotation signal to operate the first drive motor when the command signals are supplied to the drive circuit, and checks according to the detection signal if the fabric layer has been moved into position by the guiding wheel, whereby an optimum level of the contact pressure is established between the guiding wheel and the surface of the fabric layer before the sewing cycle is initiated.

In order to sew in an edge-parallel manner with an automatic guidance, workpieces made from soft materials with curved or angular seam courses, may be turned responsive to air nozzles directed in acutely-angled manner on to the supporting plate. The air nozzles are arranged tangentially, and in spaced manner, with respect to the needle.
