摘要： A method for providing integrity bounding of a weapon for use in weapon selection and targeting is presented. The method determines an integrity bound for the weapon, the integrity bound defining a zone around the target aim-point within which engagement must occur to meet a predetermined integrity level (i.e., a probability of engagement within an allowable engagement zone). A method of assigning weapons for engaging a target is also presented. The method includes determining an aim-point of a target and determining an alert limit for the aim-point, the alert limit comprising a zone that includes the aim-point and excludes any friendly sites. Weapon selection is then performed by selecting a weapon having an integrity bound less than or equal to the alert limit.

摘要： A pneumatically actuated ejection rack system for an aircraft includes a storage tank for storing a pressurized gas at or above a first pressure level and a pressure reducer positioned downstream from the storage tank. The pressure reducer is adapted to reduce the pressure level of the pressurized gas so as to receive the pressured gas at the first pressure level and discharge the pressurized gas at a second pressure level lower than the first pressure level, whereby the second pressure level is sufficient to operate a firing mechanism of the ejection rack system.

摘要： Two distinct projectile stages are employed in a projectile configured to be fired at a remote target from a rifle, grenade launcher, gas gun or the like. A first stage comprises a pair of wire tethered contact darts for applying an immobilizing electrical discharge to the target. The second stage comprises a battery, circuits, transformer and wires used to generate a high voltage pulsed signal and apply it to the contact darts in the first stage. The higher mass of the second stage impacts the lower mass first stage at launch causing the first stage to be propelled to the target while the slower second stage hits the ground short of the target.

摘要： An open loop magnetic field minesweeping system, with a small and light weight body to be towed through seawater by a towing cable from a helicopter or other vehicle, a single sweep cable extending rearwardly a substantial distance from the body with a first electrode in cable, sleeve or sock form attached to the end of the sweep cable, and a second electrode positioned forwardly of the body to be towed and extending along and connected to the towing cable. A rectifier and transformer on the body convert AC power fed to the towed body from the towing vehicle, to DC power applied across the first and second electrodes. A plurality of fairings attached to the towing cable each have an electrically conductive portion electrically isolated from the towing cable. The electrically conductive portions are electrically connected together to form the second electrode. Each fairing has a plastic nose piece attached to the towing cable and an electrically conductive metal tail piece.

摘要： A non-lethal personal defense device that may be carried by a user includes a housing, a nozzle having a discharge orifice, a control valve coupled to the nozzle, a pressurized source containing a bio-active agent and coupled to the nozzle, a rangefinder for determining a range to a target, a trigger mechanism for activating firing of the device and a firing controller. The firing controller operates the control valve to discharge an aerosol plume of the bio-active agent through the nozzle in response to activation of the trigger mechanism and in response to the range determined by the rangefinder. The nozzle may include a spray orifice for discharging a pulsed aerosol spray plume at relatively long range and a mist orifice for discharging a pulsed mist aerosol plume at relatively short range. The pulse parameters are varied in response to the sensed range to the attacker. The personal defense device may optionally include a one or more cameras and a wireless communication link for transmitting status information, images and audio to a monitoring station.

摘要： A protective ballute for a payload launched from an airborne platform includes an elongated shroud member, gas delivery apparatus for filling the shroud member with a lighter-than-air gas to inflate the shroud member. A payload as ballast is provided at one end portion of the shroud member for rendering the ballute heavier than air. Flight control and guidance apparatus is carried by said shroud member for determining a flight path and attaining a predetermined target landing site. A mechanism carried by the shroud member releases the payload from the shroud member upon reaching the landing site while maintaining said shroud member in its inflated state. The shroud member then rises or "floats" away from said landing site to another removed location, or if desired will self-destruct.
