摘要: Provided are a method for evaluation of tissue adhesion level which comprises relating the detection result of gadolinium from MRI image, on which a cross-section of a nullboundary surface between a first tissue and a second tissuenull of an animal administered with gadolinium has been imaged, to the adhesion level between the first tissue and the second tissue; and a detecting agent of tissue adhesion level. The detecting method of the present invention and detecting agent of the present invention are markedly useful, because they make it possible to detect the adhesion level, which is otherwise difficult to detect from the outside of the body, conveniently, speedily and precisely.

摘要: MRA data is acquired from an extended field of view by translating the patient through the bore of the MRI system as three-dimensional MRA data sets are acquired and time-resolved images reconstructed. The leading edge of a contrast bolus can be tracked in these images and parameters such as bolus velocity and bolus arrival time can be calculated to provide functional information in addition to anatomical information. Temporal resolution is improved by undersampling peripheral k-space and sampling the center of k-space at a higher temporal rate.

摘要: The present invention provides a system and method of improved homogeneity whereby at least a portion of an RF coil is filled with homogeneity enhancing material. Disposing the homogeneity enhancing material, such as perfluorocarbon, within the RF coil, implementation of thick saturation pads may be avoided altogether or thinner pads may be used to fill any voids between the patient and the coil. The present invention is particularly useful in a CTL coil assembly for acquiring diagnostic data of the neck region of a patient. However, the advantages achieved by the present invention may be incorporated into other surface coils for other anatomical regions where control of the susceptibility is desired. Additionally, the homogeneity enhancing material also acts as a heat sink for any hot spots on the coil.

摘要: An incubator for use with a magnetic resonance (MR) system, the incubator minimizing an amount of interference generated during an MR scan of the incubator is disclosed. The incubator includes an incubator housing, which includes a patient compartment, an aggregate compartment coupled to the patient compartment, and an electronics compartment coupled to the aggregate compartment. The incubator housing and an incubator frame are constructed as a uni-body assembly. A means for inhibiting insertion of the electronics compartment of the incubator housing into the MR system also is provided. Additionally, a method for improving the compatibility of a magnetic resonance (MR) accessory for maintaining or monitoring the health of a patient while undergoing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with an MR system is disclosed. The method includes at least one of the steps of reducing an interference between the accessory and a static magnetic field of the MR system, reducing an interference between the accessory and a time varying gradient magnetic field of the MR system, reducing radio frequency (RF) interference between the accessory and the MR system; and reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) between the accessory and the MR system..

摘要: There is provided a magnetic shield which can shield external magnetic fields in the direction of an axis of a tubular magnetic shield and in the direction vertical to the axis. A magnetic shield has a cylindrical ferromagnetic substance 2-1 having openings on both ends and two superconducting loops housed in the respective insides of superconducting loop containers 1-1, 1-2. The superconducting loops are constructed of high critical temperature superconducting wire. The two superconducting loops have semicircle shapes and are arranged in x-direction so as to be symmetrical with respect to an axis of the cylindrical ferromagnetic substance 2-1. The superconducting loop containers 1-1, 1-2 are arranged in the insides near both open ends of the cylindrical ferromagnetic substance 2-1 with supports 20. The superconducting loops are arranged to be vertical to the axis of the cylindrical ferromagnetic substance 2-1. The superconducting loops are cooled by liquid nitrogen or a refrigerator. A lightweight, small magnetic shield having high openability can be realized.

摘要: A fixture such as a local receiver coil is secured to the patient support of a magnetic resonance imaging system so that the fixture remains in position relative to the support even when the support is in a vertical orientation. The positioning apparatus is arranged to allow adjustment of the fixture position, but to limit such adjustment so that the fixture cannot interfere with the poles or other elements defining the patient-receiving gap of the magnet during movement of the patient support.
