Abstract:
An appliance for personal care, such as skin, dental or hair treatment, comprising a dispensing structure (30) for automatically dispensing a fluid. The dispensing structure (30) includes a fluid reservoir (10), a discharge opening (11) and a fluid drive structure (9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20) for driving the fluid to be dispensed from the reservoir (10) to and out of said discharge opening (11) in accordance with a dispensing rate/time profile (Sx). The fluid drive structure (9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20) is arranged for spurting at least once during said dispensing operation for squirting an additional quantity of the fluid to and out of the discharge opening (11) in addition to the fluid being dispensed in accordance with said dispensing rate/time profile (Sx).
Abstract:
A method for shaving an area of skin to remove hair therefrom is provided, the method comprising the step of applying a non-foaming, hydrating composition to the area of skin to be shaved, the non-foaming, hydrating composition comprising:a non-foaming, hydrating composition; thickener hydrophobic components and hydrating composition; then shaving the area of skin to be shaved using a razor.
Abstract:
A wet shaving razor case suitable for storage of a razor wherein the razor includes a cartridge and adjoining handle and wherein the case comprises an upper portion comprising a handle-receiving recess and a lower portion joined to the upper portion wherein the lower portion comprises a lower spacing member disposed between a forward leverage support and a rear leverage support wherein the cartridge engages with the forward leverage support upon insertion of a leading front surface of the razor into the case.
Abstract:
A razor includes a handle attached at one end of a blade assembly to position the handle away from the shave path of the razor. The handle and the blade assembly define the razor generally with an L-shape, wherein the handle is positioned in an off set position relative to a center of the blade assembly or away from the shave path. The blade assembly is thereby disposed at a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to the handle. The handle position provides a user of the razor with an unobstructed view of facial and body areas being shaven with the razor. The handle position provides such advantage for both left-handed and right-handed users. The blade assembly of the razor is constructed and arranged to mount one or two razor blade sets along either side of the assembly. In addition, the blade assembly is further constructed and arranged to pivot bi-directionally relative to the handle. A razor cartridge or blade assembly storage and dispensing device in constructed and arranged to house and dispense multiple blade assemblies.
Abstract:
An applicator for shaving cream and method of applying shaving cream comprising a handle, and a flexible blade of closed cell EVA foam. The blade has opposing faces tapered from thickest at the handle to thinnest at the tip of the blade. Each face comprises a “U” shaped valley with two arcuate through-hole slots for the transfer of shaving cream from one face to the other, such slots being oriented substantially perpendicular to the lengthwise axis of the applicator, a plurality of generally horizontal ribs for holding the shaving cream, a plurality of generally vertical ribs to assist in keeping the blade mostly flat, and a plurality of generally vertical through-holes along a “U” shaped side wall for the transfer of shaving cream between faces. In use, excess shaving cream is transferred from one face to the opposing face via through-holes in the blade for use with the opposing face.
Abstract:
A nozzle arrangement comprising a triangularly shaped distributor having a stem which is attachable to a discharge tube of an aerosol can. The distributor has a slot through which shaving cream is evenly spread onto a user. A lip is arranged across the distal edge of the distributor, adjacent the orifice, to permit a flat, even distribution of the cream discharged onto the user's skin.
Abstract:
A brush having bristles of varying heights in predetermined configurations is disclosed for extirpating ingrown facial hair from false follicles prior to shaving. The brush includes bristles of specified shapes, and incorporates a support for a razor. By properly preparing ingrown hairs for shaving a condition known as pseudofolliculitis barbae is more easily managed, thus alleviating physical and social discomfort.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electric personal care apparatus comprising a skin contacting portion configured for contact with skin of a user. The skin contacting portion comprises a porous and compressible material. The porous and compressible material is configured to hold a fluid by capillary forces. The porous and compressible material is configured to be compressed due to pressure contact of the skin contacting portion with the skin of the user, and configured to release the fluid onto the skin of the user when the porous and compressible material is holding the fluid and being compressed.
Abstract:
According to a first aspect, a razor head is provided. The razor head comprises one or more cutting members, one or more resilient elements, wherein a resilient element of the one or more resilient elements is connected with a respective cutting member from the one or more cutting members and wherein at least one resilient element of the one or more resilient elements is configured to transduce vibrations from the respective cutting member of the one or more cutting members into an electrical signal corresponding to the vibrations when the razor head is used by a user.
