The sliding contact is in the shape of a shoe with an essentially inverted wedge shape in which the angle of the wedge is an obtuse angle with its apex pointed away from the rocker. The sliding of this shoe-like contact across electrical contacts in the bottom of the switch creates the switching action.

摘要： The sealed toggle action switch comprises an operating lever having a front operating arm projecting out of the front component of the casing. The lever has a rear arm, projecting into the casing and carrying a contactor plate for relative sliding and swinging movement. A coil spring is received around the rear arm and is compressed between the contactor plate and the front sealing flange of a soft resilient sealing boot, such sealing flange being compressed against the operating lever. The boot has a rear, outwardly projecting sealing flange which is retained between the front and rear casing components. The contactor plate has a pair of J-shaped flanges which are slidably engageable with first and second fixed contacts having forwardly projecting protuberances, affording a detent action with the J-shaped flanges. In one position of the operating lever, the J-shaped flanges of the contactor plate engage both of the first and second contacts. In the second position of the operating lever, one of the J-shaped flanges is held out of engagement with the second contact by a pair of insulating ramps on the rear casing component. The first fixed contact preferably comprises a contact plate having forwardly projecting contact flanges affording protuberances or humps, over which one of the J-shaped flanges is movable when the contactor plate is moved between its first and second positions. In one position of the operating lever, the front operating arm is adapted to retain the end fitting of a safety lanyard. In this position, the front arm engages tabs which assist in retaining the end fitting of the lanyard.

摘要： A plastic switch actuator is fitted with a spring so as to impart sliding and rocking motion to a movable contact by virtue of direct engagement between spring and element. The actuator may be slidably or pivotally supported in the switch case and has a depending integral portion received in an opening of the element but it is the spring which keeps the element in contact with the fixed switch contacts. Other embodiments provide for illuminating the rocker in the miniature switch through a resistor also provided in the rocker itself, and switched on and off by movement of the rocker.

Still further embodiments provide for a toggle style actuator having a movable contact capable of retention in a "center-off" position wherein the movable contact is releasably retained on shelf-like lands defined for this purpose in the switch base, and wherein this contact can be moved by the depending actuator portion through joint action by the actuator and the spring provided on said actuator.

There are contacts between the dentate surfaces which will bring about successive retentions of the movements, pushing downward the cam-bearing part in a successive and selective fashion, resulting in downward motion of some pins inserted in the pin-bearing part, the pins acting on contact plates in order to activate distinct associated circuits.

摘要： A multi-pole toggle switch achieves sub-miniature dimensions by mounting the four see-saw contacts, four stationary contacts and four actuating pads in two parallel, linear rows, each row on an opposite side of the path of the tip of the toggle lever plunger within the switch housing. A single actuator block carries the four pads and pressure is applied by a single spring from the plunger tip to the sliding block, then to the pads and then to the see-saw contacts. A depending tongue on the block slides in a groove in the base to form a moving insulation barrier between the rows of contacts.

摘要： Twin contactors are mounted on a movable carriage and are engageable with contacts arranged in first and second rows. The contacts in one row are staggered relative to the contacts in the other row. In successive positions of the carriage, the contactors alternately form conductive bridges between adjacent contacts in the rows. A first interconnecting strap extends between staggered contacts in the two rows so that both of such contacts may serve as battery or feed contacts. A second strap extends between another pair of staggered contacts in the two rows to provide duplicate switch positions. Two additional contacts are positioned opposite each other at one end of the rows. An additional contactor is mounted on the carriage to form a bridge between such additional contacts in one extreme position of the carriage. The additional contactor is of small size and is offset laterally away from one of the rows of contacts so that the additional contactor does not form a bridge between the staggered contacts.
