摘要: A capillary bridge viscometer, comprises an input port (flow in) an output port (flow out) a first capillary tubing arm (R1) in a first hydraulic path between the input port and a first differential detection point (DP+), a second capillary tubing arm (R3) in a second hydraulic path between the first differential detection point (DP+) and the output port (flow out), a third capillary tubing arm (R2) in a third hydraulic path between the input port (flow in) and a second differential detection point (DP−), a fourth capillary tubing arm (R4) in a fourth hydraulic path between the second differential detection point (DP−) and the output port (flow out), an adjustable mechanical flow restrictor (20) in one of the first, second, third, and fourth hydraulic paths, wherein the adjustable mechanical flow restrictor (20) is operative to mechanically adjust a resistance to flow of a fluid while the fluid flows through the adjustable mechanical flow restrictor.

摘要: The proposed sensor system comprises an implantable sensor (1′) and a user device associated with the latter. A sensitive liquid is enclosed in the sensor (1′), into which glucose can penetrate. The viscosity of the mixture consisting of the sensitive liquid and the glucose is measured. The user device, which controls the measurement and its evaluation, consists of a portable device worn externally on the skin. The viscosity is measured on the basis of the rotation of a measuring element (35) which is disposed in the sensor (1′) and which can be driven by a driving magnet (24) likewise disposed in the sensor (1′). The rotation of the measuring element (35) is analysed on the basis of its decay behaviour following switch-off of the driving magnet (24). In the case of a second exemplary embodiment, the viscosity is measured on the basis of the oscillatory behaviour of an oscillating element which is disposed in the sensor and which can be excited to oscillate by a magnet likewise disposed in the sensor. The oscillatory behaviour is analysed on the basis of the decay behaviour of the oscillating element following switch-off of the magnet.

摘要: Techniques for gas analysis using a parallel dipole line (PDL) trap viscometer are provided. In one aspect, a gas analysis system is provided which includes: a PDL trap including: a pair of diametric cylindrical magnets, and a diamagnetic rod levitating above the magnets; and a motion detector for capturing motion of the diamagnetic rod. The motion detector can include a digital video camera positioned facing a top of the PDL trap so as to permit capturing video images of the diamagnetic rod and the system can include a computer for receiving and analyzing video images from the video camera. Methods for measuring gas viscosity and pressure using the PDL trap system are also provided.

摘要: A viscometer has a hollow cylinder mounted in a base frame and rotated about its longitudinal axis. A measuring part being flowed through by a fluid to be tested is rotatably supported in the hollow cylinder. An electromagnetic drive with a stator and a rotor for the hollow cylinder is provided, with which the hollow cylinder is rotatable. The stator is supported on the base frame and the rotor is supported on the hollow cylinder. An electromagnetic coupling of the stator with the rotor is provided by a ring rotor disposed between the stator and the rotor. The ring rotor is mounted about the longitudinal axis of the hollow cylinder so that the base frame and the hollow cylinder are decoupled with respect to the electromagnetic drive and a torque by the electromagnetic drive is applied to the hollow cylinder while the acting forces on the hollow cylinder are minimized.
