    摘要: An intake system for a multicylinder internal combustion engine comprises an intake passage including a common passage portion opening to the atmosphere, first and second volume chambers communicated with each other by a communicating passage, and a plurality of discrete passage portions branching from the first volume chamber and respectively connected to the cylinders. The second volume chamber is arranged to communicate the discrete passage portions with each other at a portion downstream of the first volume chamber and the common passage portion is communicated to one of the first and second volume chambers. An on-off valve is disposed at each junction of the second volume chamber with the discrete passage portions to move between an open position and a closed position in which the effective cross-sectional area of the junction is narrowed to an extent sufficient to prevent reflection of the pressure wave generated in the discrete passage portion at the second volume chamber. The on-off valves are moved to the open position as the engine speed increases at least during heavy load operation of the engine.

    摘要: An air filter for an air intake system of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine has a housing with a first housing part and a second housing part. A filter element is arranged between the housing parts. An untreated air side of the air filter is formed in the first housing part and a clean air side of the air filter is formed in the second housing part. The first housing part has a housing opening for conducting untreated air into the housing and the second housing part has a housing opening for discharging clean air out of the housing. Further, the housing has a third housing opening for conducting untreated air into the housing, with the housing holding a switchable flap arrangement for opening and closing the third housing opening. The flap arrangement can be activated as a function of operating states of the internal combustion engine. This allows variable, in particular large air masses to be passed through an air filter on account of the further housing opening.

    摘要: In an air intake apparatus of an internal combustion engine, disassembling a surge tank made of resin with an intake air control valve into divided pieces, and bonding the divided pieces by vibration adhesion, for preventing the intake air control valve from breaking or characteristic thereof from changing during the vibration adhesion or for ensuring a sealing property between parts, an inner space in the surge tank is divided into first and second chambers by providing a horizontal partitioning wall within the surge tank. The surge tank is divided into a middle piece made of resin and formed integrally with the partitioning wall, a lower piece made of resin, and an upper piece also made of resin, and these three pieces are bonded by the vibration adhesion to form the surge tank. A communicating hole for making the first chamber communicate with the second chamber is formed in the partitioning wall, and a valve body for opening and closing the communication hole is provided in the communicating hole. A drive device for opening and closing the valve body is provided on the middle piece.

    摘要: An intake system for a combustion engine has at least two rows of cylinder heads, each of which features an intake manifold with individual pipes leading to the cylinders. The intake manifolds are connected to one another through transverse ducts equipped with switching valves as well as to an air supply duct leading to one of the transverse ducts, which features a throttle valve to regulate the air volume. The air supply duct is preferably comprised of a double-fluted distributor pipe leading to one of the transverse ducts. A throttle valve housing is connected upstream of the distributor pipe, and an interior wall is integrated into the distributor pipe, thereby dividing the interior space thereof into two interior ducts of virtually equal cross section.
