摘要： This disclosure relates to an apparatus for conveying material as it is removed from rows of bales for subsequent utilization during a spinning operation, the apparatus including a generally elongated channel having an elongated longitudinally disposed slot, a frame movable along rails on opposite sides of the channel, the frame carrying a carriage pivoted thereto along with a telescopic tube for delivering material removed from bales to the channel, a flexible belt, a first end of the flexible belt being secured to an end of the channel, a second end of the flexible belt being entrained about a drum such that the flexible belt can be placed in overlying relationship to the slot upon movement of the frame along the rails whereby material delivered into the channel is covered by the belt and a drive mechanism for appropriately rotating the drum to wind and unwind the belt during movement of the frame along the rails.

摘要： A suction duct for textile machines such as bale-openers which is provided for receiving fibers removed from a bale through a flexible tube. The flexible tube 30 is moved with a carriage 21 over a row of bales when removing fibers therefrom. The fibers passing through the flexible tube 30 are deposited into the suction duct 1 which has a longitudinally extending opening 10 provided in the top thereof. In order to maintain the suction duct closed except for the opening 10' communicating with the flexible tube 30, a flexible cover-strip 4 is moved with the connection-opening 3. The remote end of the cover-strip 4 is fixed.

摘要： This disclosure relates to a method of removing a generally uniform layer portion of fibrous material from the top of a bale of compressed fibrous material and loosening the fibers of the layer portion during the removal thereof by providing a bale of relatively compressed fibrous material having a predetermined upper surface area, providing a suction hood having an overall area corresponding in size generally to the upper surface area of the fibrous bale, creating at least two spaced linear areas of suction across the overall area of the hood while preventing the creation of suction between the two linear suction areas, positioning the suction hood in overlying contiguous relationship to the bale upper surface area whereby the suction draws the fibrous material upwardly across the overall area and loosens the compressed condition thereof to a generally fluffed state through a uniform depth thereof, raising the suction hood to remove a general uniform depth of the loosened fibrous material across generally the entirety of the predetermined surface area, and subsequently discontinuing the suction to release the loosened fibrous material layer portion from the suction hood for subsequent processing.

摘要： A device and method for removing fibrous materials from a wrapped cylindrical module of fibrous material. The wrap material encloses the lateral sides of the cylindrical module, but only overlaps a portion of each end of the module. A cylindrical module is advanced on its side upon a conveyor to a loading position where it is lifted by one or more grasping members on one or more arms to an unloading position without altering the orientation of the module. The cylindrical module is then turned vertically to allow the fibrous material to fall out of the wrap material. The wrap material remains attached to the grasping member by a plurality of projections. Once empty, the empty wrap material may be manually removed and discarded and the arm returned to the loading position to lift the next module.

One of the elements is mounted on the detaching device (or other cotravelling component) and the other element is mounted along one of the first and second paths of travel for generating signals as a function of displacement of the detaching device along at least one of the first and second paths of travel.
