Abstract:
In one embodiment of the invention, photo-chromic light drawing sets are disclosed including a photo-chromic page and a light pen. The photo-chromic page includes a flat transparent substrate having a page-like shape and one or more layers of photo-chromic ink applied onto the substrate. The flat transparent substrate to display an object underneath, and the one of more layers of photo-chromic ink are substantially transparent in an inactive state. The light pen selectively generates an activating light to shine onto the photo-chromic page and activate a portion of the one of more layers of photo-chromic ink. The activated portion of the one or more layers of photo-chromic ink is temporarily transformed from the inactive state to an active state in response to the activating light.
Abstract:
In one embodiment of the invention, photo-chromic doll playsets are disclosed. A photo-chromic doll playset includes a doll having a substrate; a photo-chromic material applied to the substrate; a light pen to selectively apply a tightly focused activating light output on the photo-chromic material to create narrow lines of activated photo-chromic material. In response to the activating light, the activated photo-chromic material temporarily transforms from a first color to a second color for a period of time before gradually decaying back to the first color.
Abstract:
In one embodiment of the invention, a doubled ended light pen for photo-chromic toys is disclosed. A doubled ended light pen includes a housing having a first end and a second end, a first ultraviolet light emitting diode (UVLED) mounted near the first end of the housing, a second UVLED mounted near the second end of the housing, and first and second switches mounted in the housing. The housing holds one or more batteries to provide power. The first switch and the second switch respectively switch ON and OFF the power supplied by the one or more batteries to the first UVLED and the second UVLED. When powered on, the first UVLED applies a wide angle activation light while the second UVLED applies a point source activation light to a photo-chromic surface.
Abstract:
The invention is a display article having a flexible substrate which includes a writing surface capable of being used as a dry erase surface. A peripheral edge extends around the writing surface. A flexible framing strip is affixed to the writing surface at a position proximate to the peripheral edge. One embodiment of the display article can be made by forming a substrate having a writing surface. The substrate defines a periphery edge, a back surface, and a plurality of mushroom shaped hooks extending from the back surface substantially over the entire back surface. The writing surface is capable of being used as a dry erase surface. At least a portion of the periphery of the writing substrate is folded over to form a framing strip having a plurality of exposed mushroom shaped hooks. The framing strip is secured to the writing surface.
Abstract:
A flexible and self-adhesive repositionable dry erasable markerboard is disclosed, together with a method for making such repositionable dry erasable markerboard. The repositionable dry erasable markerboard is made of a second layer, comprising a paper layer, with a first layer, comprising a dry erasable layer applied to the upper surface of the second layer, and a third layer, comprising a pressure sensitive adhesive layer, applied to the lower surface of the second layer. The dry erasable first layer may be either a coating cured under the presence of a nitrogen blanket or a film. The pressure sensitive adhesive of the third layer may be applied to the entire surface of the second layer or selectively zone-coated. The pressure sensitive adhesive of the third layer may be covered with a fourth layer, comprising a removable liner. The paper second layer may be coated and/or printed. The repositionable dry erasable markerboard is flexible and may be rolled into a tube. The repositionable dry erasable markerboard may be cut into individual repositionable dry erasable markerboards and formed into a pad. The repositionable dry erasable markerboard may be perforated.

Abstract:
A system to make illustrations has at least one writable sheet of material with a first side and a second side, and at least an ink-producing writing device to write on the sheet of material. The sheet is secured in a thread-shaped frame. Provision is made for attachment devices in order to attach the frame to a vertical surface, such as one or more suckers, which are connected to the sheet of material and the frame. Further, provision is made for a writing material holder and erasers in order to erase an illustration made.
Abstract:
A flexible writing surface including a coated flexible substrate having a dust collecting cuff around the perimeter thereof to prevent the scattering of chalk dust during use.
