    摘要: A safety lock ring for a circular tool, such as a sawblade, comprising a first collar with a generally cylindrical body portion and a flange engaging one side of the tool, a circular, split tool, such as a sawblade, comprising a plurality of separate segments and having a central opening, when assembled, through which the body portion of the first collar extends, and a second collar disposed around the first collar body portion and having a tool-engaging surface on the opposite side of the tool. A pair of annular grooves on opposite faces of the tool are in interlocking engagement with corresponding annular ribs on the first and second collars, respectively, and the first collar is urged against the tool face so as to clamp the tool between it and the first collar by means of an outer locking collar threadedly secured to the first collar body portion. Dowels, press set in the flange of the first locking collar, extend into openings in the tool segments so as to key the segments to the flange.

    摘要: An improved fluid-tight tensioning seal is provided for use in apparatus of the type wherein an inside diameter cutting blade is mounted in a circular saw blade housing, the blade being continuously tensioned during the cutting operation. The tensioning seal comprises two pieces, one of which is elastic and moves in sealing relationship within a channel provided in the housing in response to pressurized fluid. The second piece is substantially rigid, abuts the first piece on one side and has a contoured projection extending from its other side for engaging and tensioning the blade.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a unique carrier for mounting on a rotatable spindle an annular saw blade possessing a cutting edge on its inner periphery and a plurality of annularly distributed mounting holes. The carrier includes a chuck for mounting on the spindle and for clamping the blade to the chuck. Formed in the annular clamp are a plurality of screw holes disposed for alignment with others of the mounting holes. The screw holes are threaded to receive mounting screws and have minimum diameters smaller than those of the mounting holes with which they are aligned while the alignment holes have minimum diameters equal to those of the mounting holes with which they are aligned. Centering of the blade on the annular clamp is accomplished by merely passing through the mated alignment and mounting holes an alignment tool having a diameter equal thereto. Subsequently, the clamping of the blade is achieved by inserting and tightening mounting screws in the mated screw and mounting holes.

    摘要: An inside diameter cutting blade is mounted in a circular saw blade housing. The cutting blade is tensioned by pressurized hydraulic fluid within a channel which causes a fluid-tight gasket in the channel to bear against and tension the outer circumference of the blade. Accurate and uniform tensioning of the cutting blade is accomplished by the pressure of the hydraulic fluid, which uniformly deforms the gasket. The hydraulic fluid is water soluble and permits easy clean-up should any of the fluid leak past the gasket. The use of a bleed fitting permits total release of tensioning pressure, required during blade changes without complete removal of tensioning fluid thus permitting return to full blade tensioning pressure in greatly reduced time.
