Abstract:
An apparatus and method that uses at least six digital cameras to capture images of the foot, can reconstruct the 3D model of the foot rapidly. Users can only wear elastic socks, which have specially coded multicolored stripes or spots, and stands on the transparent plate of a platform. First from two parallel cameras under the transparent plate, the 3D contour about the sole of the foot can be computed and reconstructed through stereosis algorithm. Similarly, from the other four cameras at least around the upper part of the foot, four or more curved surfaces are combined to reconstruct 3D contour of the upper portion of the foot. Combining the bottom contours and upper contours of the foot the complete 3D foot model can be obtained.
Abstract:
A system and method for receiving footwear size and past product fit information for a user at a host computer from a client computer over a computer network, such as the Internet, is disclosed. Foot size information for the user (preferably measured in millimeters) is received from the client computer, and a recommended footwear size is determined for the selected footwear model based on the received foot size information, a length adjustment factor for the selected footwear model and past product fit information. Additionally, a width adjustment factor can be used for determining the recommended footwear size.
Abstract:
A method comprises stocking a predetermined number of sets of foot orthotics, each set having a standard arch height that is unique for that set. An arch height of a sole of a foot is measured. Then, an orthotic is selected from the set for which the standard arch height most closely matches the measured arch height.
Abstract:
A system for electrostatically measuring the shape or pattern of objects comprising an array of sensor devices having the capability of responding, due to variable electrostatic coupling, to produce differentiated output signals when a sensor element forming part of each device is present and when it is not.
Abstract:
The disclosed device features is a contacting three dimensional sole measuring device to produce accurate three dimensional renditions of the bottom of a human foot placed thereon. The device features one or a plurality of sensors groups communicating with the top surface of a case. Each sensor group is dimensioned to accommodate the area of a footprint of a human foot when placed on top of it. Each sensor group is composed of a plurality of linear displacement sensors which measure the displacement caused by the bottom surface of the foot and communicate that displacement to a data processing device which compiles a three dimensional rendition of the bottom of the foot surface from the individual data points from the displacement senors. Accurate renditions of the bottom surface of a human foot may be achieved by a person simply standing on the sensor groups barefoot.
Abstract:
A system and method for measuring the size of a person's foot so that properly sized shoes can be selected. The measuring system has a support surface having a transparent window, and a fixture positioned over the transparent window for receiving a foot to be scanned. The measuring system also includes an imaging device for scanning the foot in the fixture through the window to produce an image of a bottom surface of the foot superimposed on foot measuring indicia. In one embodiment, the fixture is shaped like a shoe. The person can print the image and use the image to select a properly sized pair of shoes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for the optoelectronic determination of the length (1) and/or the width (2) of a body (4) situated on a support (3), comprising a first linear guide (5) for determining the length (1) of the body and/or a second linear guide (6) for determining the width (2) of the body (4). Said first (5) and/or said second linear guide (6) can be moved along the support (3) in the longitudinal and/or transversal direction of the same, and each has at least one optoelectronic probe (7). The probe heads (7) are connected to an evaluation device (8) in such a way that the signals can be transmitted, said evaluation device converting and displaying the electrical signal emitted by the probe heads (7) into the length (1) and/or the width (2) of the body (4).
Abstract:
A system for creating at least one foot insert for an individual using a neutralizer 10, a levelor 40, and a sled 60. The neutralizer has a housing, protractor, and an angularly adjustable plate capable of supporting the foot. The neutralizer is adapted to accommodate a single foot of the individual to determine the neutral angle for each foot individually. The levelor is positionable on the neutralizer and has a plurality of adjustable arms to transfer the neutral angle from the neutralizer to the levelor. The levelor is also mountable to the sled with the adjustable arms being adapted to engage an insert for transferring the neutral angle to the insert.
Abstract:
An imaging system places an object upon a background pattern of regular repetitive marks and records a 2D image that is then processed for determining where in the image the repetitive marks are interrupted by the object, thereby indirectly determining the edge of the object. Multiple 2D images from different perspective are used to create a 3D image of the object. When the object is a human foot, individual bar codes and imaged foot dimensions can be cross-referenced to manufactured shoe sizes for accurate ordering of correctly sized footwear.
Abstract:
A system and a process to facilitate transactions between individuals and providers of goods and/or services. The system includes a master database unit for retaining information related to various characteristics of interest of a plurality of individuals. Each set of information associated with a particular individual is provided with a unique personal code that is supplied to the individual. In any remote communications with the goods/services provider, the individual supplies the personal code. The provider in turn contacts the master database unit and supplies an access code and a particular one or more of the personal codes. The master database unit returns to the provider the set or sets of information associated with the personal code or codes. Based on that information the provider can ensure compatibility of the goods or services with the individual's interests and characteristics. The system of the invention reduces the interface time between the individual and the provider. It also ensures the relevant information can be supplied more quickly and with greater accuracy.
