Abstract: A vehicle includes a body and a door coupled to the body. The door is operable between opened and closed positions. A cinch assembly is operably coupled to the door. A door seal is positioned along at least a portion of a door opening, wherein the door seal includes a first conductor and a second conductor positioned therein. The first and second conductors are dielectrically isolated and cooperate to generate a capacitive signal. A controller is configured to monitor the capacitive signal and control the cinch assembly in response to the capacitive signal.

The enforcement vehicle detects at least one escalation characteristic via the monitoring and automatically enacts a predefined vehicle reaction based on a predicted type of escalation determined from one or more detected at least one escalation characteristics.

Abstract: A cargo bed extension system includes a tub of a cargo bed. The tub is configured to transition back-and-forth between a standard position and an extended position. The tub is closer to a cab of a vehicle when the tub is in the standard position than when the tub is in the extended position. A panel is oriented vertically when the tub is in the standard position and is oriented horizontally when the tub is in the extended position. The panel provides a floor section between the cab and the tub when the tub is in the extended position.

Abstract: A vehicle including an ultra-wide band (UWB) transceiver is disclosed. The UWB transceiver may be configured to operate in a first mode and a second mode. The UWB transceiver may be configured to perform phone-as-a-key (PaaK) localization in the first mode and radar sensing in the second mode. The vehicle may further include a processor configured to activate the UWB transceiver in the first mode. The processor may receive a trigger signal to switch the UWB transceiver from the first mode to the second mode. Responsive to receiving the trigger signal, the processor may cause the UWB transceiver to transmit a radar pulse signal and receive a radar response signal reflected from a target located inside the vehicle. Based on the response signal, the processor may determine a sitting area profile and an occupant presence on a sitting area, and perform sitting area adjustment.

Abstract: A vehicle assembly includes a hinge and a wire shield assembly mounted to the hinge. A method of shielding a wire can include providing a tailgate assembly that includes a door subassembly pivotably coupled to a frame subassembly. The door subassembly and the frame subassembly can be pivotable together between a tailgate closed position and a tailgate open position. The method can include pivoting the door subassembly relative to the frame subassembly to provide a cargo bed access opening; and electrically connecting the door subassembly using a wire routed through a wire shield assembly.
