The information activation method includes: sending, by a network side device, a Media Access Control Control Element (MAC CE) command. The MAC CE command includes at least two first MAC CE commands or a second MAC CE command. The first MAC CE command is used to activate a Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) state corresponding to one piece of first identifier information. The second MAC CE command is used to activate TCI states corresponding to at least two pieces of second identifier information. The activated TCI state is used to determine common beam information of a plurality of channels.
