Abstract: A user equipment (UE) configured for dual connectivity with a split bearer configuration may transmit uplink data packets to one or both a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG). The UE may transmit an uplink transmission from a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity over one or both of a first radio link control (RLC) entity associated with the MCG and a second RLC entity associated with the SCG. The configuration including a transmit buffer threshold. The UE may receive, at the PDCP entity, an uplink switch start indication. The UE may activate the second RLC entity in response to receiving the uplink switch start indication. The UE may transmit a buffer status report according to a current transmit buffer level plus the transmit buffer threshold. Accordingly, the UE may communicate with the SCG based on the uplink switch start indication.

The UE starts a first timer (such as a discontinuous reception (DRX) hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) round-trip-time (RTT) timer), after sending an uplink (UL) data transmission to a network entity. The UE then starts a second timer (such as a DRX retransmission timer) when the first timer expires. The UE then determines whether to wake up or sleep for a duration of the second timer based on a prior block error rate (BLER).

A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes communicating with a first network on a first channel using a first technology, determining whether a tune-away associated with the first technology will occur, and outputting, for transmission to the first network on a second channel using a second technology, a channel quality indicator (CQI) report corresponding to the second channel if the tune-away will occur, wherein the CQI report indicates a lower CQI for the second channel than a current CQI for the second channel.

The wireless communication device transmits a second portion of the plurality of data packets using a second RAT different from the first RAT. The wireless communication device stores at least some of the plurality of data packets in a memory pending an acknowledgement (ACK) indication associated with at least a first data packet of the plurality of data packets. The wireless communication device determines a transmission configuration for at least the first data packet and a second data packet based on whether a threshold occupancy of the memory is satisfied. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

An expected air time parameter may be used as a parameter for estimating throughput. The expected air time parameter may be indicative of an estimated air time fraction obtainable for communications using an access point (AP), for example, between a wireless station (STA) and the AP. Either the expected air time parameter or an estimated air time fraction determined (e.g., calculated) from the expected air time parameter may be transmitted from the AP to the STA (or other communication device) to allow the STA (or other communication device) to determine an estimated throughput for communications using the AP.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may rewrite a TCP timestamp, delay sending of a TCP acknowledgement packet, or both, to reduce the likelihood that a TCP connection times out during a radio impairment event. The may establish a transmission control protocol (TCP) connection with a remote host via a first radio access technology (RAT). The communication device may determine a time stamp value associated with traffic of the TCP connection. The communication device may adjust the time stamp value in a TCP header based at least in part on a radio impairment event that is scheduled or predicted to occur within a defined amount of time. The communication device may also determine a duration of a delay and delay communicating a TCP acknowledgement packet over the TCP connection by at least the duration of the delay.
