    Abstract: To more efficient sidelink communications, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided. An example method of a first wireless device operating includes transmitting a sidelink discovery probing message comprising at least a first identifier of the first sidelink device. The example method further includes monitoring for a probing response from a second sidelink device. The example method further includes transmitting a sidelink discovery message if the first sidelink device receives the probing response from the second sidelink device. The example method further includes skipping transmitting the sidelink discovery message if the first sidelink device does not receive the probing response from the second sidelink device.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to methods and apparatus for adjusting a number of encoded bits, M, in block puncturing and/or shortening calculations to improve encoding performance. An exemplary method that may be performed by a wireless device generally includes iteratively determining a parameter, Madj, for construction of a polar code of size N for use in encoding K information bits, based on: at least two parameters, α and β, related to how many iterations to use in determining Madj, and a number of encoded bits, M; performing information adjustment allocation of the K information bits to an upper part and a lower part of the polar code based on Madj; and transmitting the upper part and the lower part of the polar code via a wireless medium.

The UE may transmit, to the base station via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) format 1 and based at least in part on the downlink data, a first hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) bit associated with a high priority using a first quantity of symbols. The UE may transmit, to the base station via the PUCCH format 1 and based at least in part on the downlink data, a second HARQ-ACK bit associated with a low priority using a second quantity of symbols that is less than the first quantity of symbols.
