    Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives, through a non-physical layer signaling, a configuration indicating to receive a first reference signal in a set of OFDM symbols in a first slot. The UE attempts to detect a physical layer signaling in the first slot or in a second slot prior to the first slot. The UE refrains from conducting measurements of the first reference signal, when the physical layer signaling is detected by the UE and includes a first indication.

    Abstract: A method of CSI-RS Measurement Timing Configuration (CMTC) is proposed. The CMTC timing window is specifically configured to UE for CSI-RS RRM/mobility measurement via Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling. CMTC can be carrier-specific or measurement object (MO) specific configured. Multiple CMTC can be configured to a UE, in a carrier-specific or a measurement object (MO) specific fashion. For inter frequency measurement, one CMTC on a carrier can be configured. For intra frequency measurement, up to two CMTC on a carrier can be configured. The CSI-RS resources associated to a given cell shall be configured within one slot. The CSI-RS resources on a carrier can be configured in the carrier specific CMTC. A gap shall be configured to include the CMTC for inter-frequency measurement.

    Abstract: Concepts and examples pertaining to efficient coding switching and modem resource utilization in wireless communication systems are described. A processor of a modem of a user equipment (UE), configured with at least a first-capacity decoder and at least a second-capacity decoder, receives a common virtual carrier (CVC), a dedicated virtual carrier (DVC), or both. The CVC contains common information shared by multiple UEs, control information for the UE, and/or data information related to first data destined for the UE. The DVC contains control information for the UE, the first data, or a combination thereof. The first-capacity decoder decodes data of a small size up to a low data rate. The second-capacity decoder decodes data of a large size up to a high data rate. The processor determines whether to decode the first data using the first-capacity decoder or the second-capacity decoder based on the data information in the CVC.

    Abstract: A method of configuring and applying UE beam training gaps for simultaneous UE beam training and data reception in a beamforming wireless communication system is proposed. UE beam training gaps are configured by the base station for each UE. Typically, UE-specific data transmission can take place during the serving control beam time region. The UE beam training gaps are periods where UE-specific data transmission does not happen within the serving control beam time region. During each UE beam training gap, non-serving UE beam training can take place, where the UE performs intra-frequency reference signal measurements from serving and/or neighbor cells using various non-serving UE beams. The UE beam training gaps are configured and signaled to each UE, and each individual UE can have different data occupancy region within its serving CB time region.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic device including a transceiver and processing circuitry and a method for scheduling restriction. The transceiver can receive from a network configuration information to configure a measurement resource for a signal quality measurement. The signal quality measurement can determine a signal quality of a reference signal from the network to the electronic device. The processing circuitry can determine whether to apply the scheduling restriction based on the configuration information. In response to applying the scheduling restriction, the processing circuitry can determine when to apply the scheduling restriction based at least on a resource type of the measurement resource, the resource type being one of periodic, semi-persistent, and aperiodic. In an example, the signal quality of the reference signal includes a layer 1 (L1) reference signal received power (L1-RSRP) for the reference signal and the signal quality measurement includes an L1-RSRP measurement.

    Abstract: A method is provided for TCI switching related to CSI-RS measurement and reporting, spatial relation switch for SRS, PUSCH, and PUCCH. The PDSCH and PDCCH are received according to the QCLed aperiodic CSI-RS. When the AP CSI-RS is configured as the reference in the TCI of PDSCH, UE may apply the updated TCI for the PDSCH, after the corresponding aperiodic report has been received at the network. Spatial relation switch is based on the valid measurement report. The spatial relation switch delay of aperiodic SRS can be performed when UE has sent the corresponding measurement report to the network.
