A printing machine, having side walls and at least one form cylinder with an outer cylindrical surface carrying a removable sleeve-shaped printing form, the form cylinder having journals and being removably mounted in the side walls. A bearing rotatably supports the journals in the sidewalls and at least one of the side walls has an opening. A transport device moves the form cylinder back and forth through the opening in the side wall so that the sleeve of the form cylinder removed from the printing machine can be exchanged for a replacement sleeve and the form cylinder with the replacement sleeve can be moved back into the printing machine.

In order to reduce the energy consumption of the suction unit, on the one hand, and to improve the cleaning effect, on the other hand, of a wiper device for hard surfaces, in particular a window wiper, comprising a slit-shaped suction nozzle, on which a flexible wiper lip is arranged, which protrudes forwardly beyond the suction nozzle, it is suggested that the wiper lip be held on a wall of the suction nozzle and drawn against the opposite wall of the suction nozzle under the influence of a suction stream in the suction nozzle and thereby close the suction nozzle.

To permit elimination of dampening rollers or an entire dampener in a lithographic, preferably offset printing machine, the printing form is formed as a cylindrical sleeve or jacket (3) fitted over a core (2), in which the cylindrical sleeve or jacket is formed with a plurality of interconnected pores (5), essentially uniformly distributed over the surface (4) and forming, within the sleeve or jacket, a connected pore fluid transfer network. Dampening fluid is then applied to the interior of the sleeve or jacket, for example from a chamber (6) between the cylindrical core (2) and the inner surface of the sleeve or jacket. The outer surface (4) can be imaged with oleophilic substances, for example by a thermal transfer process. To remove the images, for re-use of the printing form without removal from a printing machine, hot gases for example steam can be applied to the interior of the sleeve or jacket, so that the oleophilic substances at the outside will loosen for easy removal, or spall off.

In a rotor nozzle for a high-pressure cleaning device comprising a housing, a rotor rotatably mounted therein and set in rotation by a cleaning liquid, and a nozzle arranged downstream of the rotor with its outlet axis including a variable, acute angle with the axis of rotation of the rotor and rotated by the rotor about the axis of rotation thereof so that the jet of cleaning liquid issuing from it flows around the lateral area of a cone, to enable adjustment of the outlet angle of the point jet without having to change any other parameters, it is proposed that adjustable stops be arranged in the housing to limit to a greater or lesser extent the widening of the acute angle between the outlet axis of the nozzle and the axis of rotation of the rotor in accordance with the position of the limiting elements.

Disclosed is a smoke projectile comprising a pyrotechnic active charge which emits in the infrared range and is impenetrable in the visible range. The aim of the invention is to create a smoke projectile which has a simple design while resulting in the line of sight quickly fading in the infrared and visible radiation range on impact at a wide solid angle. The active charge (2) forms a hollow cylinder-shaped stack which comprises several layers (5) of hollow cylinder segments (6) and is disposed within a burnable outer coating (4).

In order to provide a rotary printing machine for direct printing, in which the printing-assembly cylinders are guided in a stable manner by means of a cost-effective device, the forme cylinder and the impression cylinder of a printing assembly are mounted, adjustably in terms of their mutual spacing, in side walls. At least one of the two cylinders is mounted on both sides in slides movable on straight guide elements which are arranged in each case on at least one of two opposite panels of an aperture in the side walls.

A high-pressure cleaning device is provided. The device includes a housing enclosing a liquid pump and motor for driving the pump. A spray gun consisting of a jet pipe and an actuating handle is connected to the liquid pump via a hose. The spray gun is releasably attached to the housing such that the cleaning device can be operated by manually gripping the actuating handle of the gun regardless of whether the gun is attached to the housing or not.

The values ascertained from printer's copies (8, 9), for ink zone presetting, are supplied to a color supply detection computer (3) via a film/plate scanner (4). Before the various scanning areas in accordance with scanning patterns (7) are summed up, the zonal preset values ascertained by the ink supply detection computer (3) undergo a correction in accordance with the value furnished by a weighting computer (16) for each scanning area. This optimizes the presetting of the ink zones. As a function of the corrected values taking the subject to be printed into account, ductor rollers (22) and rubber rollers (21) can be controlled in order to improve the ink penetration as a function of the subject in the circumferential direction as well.
