Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a contention method. The contention method includes: receiving, by an access point, an uplink frame transmitted by a station; transmitting, by the access point, a frame responding to the uplink frame. The frame responding to the uplink frame is used to acknowledge the uplink frame and trigger the station to enter the next channel contention period. The contention method can acknowledge the uplink frame and trigger the station to enter the next channel contention period.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a signal transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: modulating, by using a phase-shift keying PSK scheme with rotation of a first angle, at least a part of pilot information carried in at least one signaling symbol in a signaling field of a data packet, to obtain modulated pilot information; and sending, to a receive end, a data packet that carries the modulated pilot information. A modulation scheme different from a conventional modulation scheme is used in the embodiments to modulate pilot information carried in a signaling symbol in a signaling field of a data packet, so that a data packet format corresponding to the modulation scheme can be effectively detected at a receive end.

Abstract: A multi-carrier aggregation method and apparatus, user equipment, and a network side device are disclosed. The method includes: determining, by a network side device according to information about a transmission resource that is obtained when at least one component carrier is successfully obtained through contention, start and end times of a scheduling phase corresponding to the at least one component carrier, where the scheduling phase is divided by an uplink-downlink switch point into an uplink phase of the scheduling phase and a downlink phase of the scheduling phase, the uplink-downlink switch point is used to divide a time to obtain an uplink time of the component carrier and a downlink time of the component carrier, and uplink-downlink switch points of two or more component carriers are aligned in time; and performing, by the network side device, downlink transmission with user equipment in the downlink phase of the scheduling phase.

Abstract: A method includes determining, by a first access point, a working mode of a second access point, where a coverage area of the first access point overlaps a coverage area of the second access point, and where the working mode includes a non-coordinated scheduling mode, a coordinated scheduling mode, a contention mode, or an in-slot contention ISC mode. The method further includes initiating, by the first access point, a working mode switching procedure when it is determined that the working mode of the second access point is the non-coordinated scheduling mode, where the working mode switching procedure is used to switch the working mode of the second access point to the contention mode or the ISC mode.
