Abstract:
A retaining apparatus in an electronic device includes a bracket, a disk drive, a pair of latch members and a securing member. The bracket includes two side panels. The disk drive is received between the two side panels. The pair of latch members is capable of locking the disk drive in the bracket. Each latch member is rotatably attached to each side panel. The latch member includes a locking portion capable of locking the disk drive in the bracket. The securing member connects with the latch members. The securing member will drive the other latch member when either one is actuated.
Abstract:
An exemplary electronic device includes a cover, a motherboard and a driving module both disposed at an inner side of the cover, an electronic component fixed on the motherboard, and a fan duct mounted on the motherboard and covering the electronic component. The driving module has a rotating shaft for supportively driving an optical disk rotating. The fan duct guides hot air therein toward the driving module.
Abstract:
A camera includes a frame and a flash unit. The frame is provided with a first retainer and a second retainer at two different places thereof. The flash unit is alternatively attached to the two places via one of the first retainer and the second retainer.
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed to enable generation of a high-resolution image from any generic low-resolution image. In one described implementation, a method includes extracting, at a training phase, a plurality of primal sketch priors from training data. At a synthesis phase, the plurality of primal sketch priors are utilized to improve a low-resolution image by replacing one or more low-frequency primitives extracted from the low-resolution image with corresponding ones of the plurality of primal sketch priors.
Abstract:
A fastening system is provided that includes a fastener having a pin member with a lock groove and crest geometry that is optimized to receive swaged material from collars of materials of different strengths for securing workpieces for different load applications. The lock grooves have the longest width required for collars of lower strength for one application or greater strength for a second application and the crests have the longest width required for collars of greater strength for the second application whereby satisfactory clamp and tensile loads and resistance to failure will result when the lock grooves are filled with collar materials of different strengths. Certain collars of different materials have similar outside diameters for installation by a tool having a swage anvil with a uniform swage cavity that swages the collars into the lock grooves for securing workpieces in shear, shear/tension, shear composite and shear/tension composite applications.
Abstract:
A backlight system includes a light guide plate and a light source. The light guide plate includes a light incident surface, a reflective surface adjoining the light incident surface, and a light-emitting surface opposite to the reflective surface. The light guide plate further includes an upper layer and a lower layer under the upper layer. The upper layer includes a substrate portion, a light-emitting surface, a second surface, and a number of projections. The projections extend from the second surface. Each projection has a top extremity adjoining the substrate portion and a bottom face distal from the substrate portion. The lower layer includes a light incident surface, a top surface adjoining the light incident surface, and a reflective surface opposite to the top surface. The top surface of the lower layer abuts the bottom face of the projections.
Abstract:
A video surveillance system uses rule-based reasoning and multiple-hypothesis scoring to detect predefined behaviors based on movement through zone patterns. Trajectory hypothesis spawning allows for trajectory splitting and/or merging and includes local pruning to managed hypothesis growth. Hypotheses are scored based on a number of criteria, illustratively including at least one non-spatial parameter. Connection probabilities computed during the hypothesis spawning process are based on a number of criteria, illustratively including object size. Object detection and probability scoring is illustratively based on object class.
Abstract:
A graphical password authentication arrangement and method display a grid on a display upon a user's request to access a restricted resource. The graphical password authentication arrangement requires the user to enter his or her access password by selecting one or more intersections on the grid on the display with an input device. A processing means determines whether to grant the user to access the restricted resource by comparing the access password entered with a corresponding file password for the user, which is stored in a storage means.
