Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may employ a multiplexing configuration based on latency and efficiency considerations. The base station may transmit a resource grant, a signal indicating the length of a downlink (DL) transmission time interval (TTI), and a signal indicating the length of a subsequent uplink (UL) TTI to one or more user equipment (UEs). The base station may dynamically select a new multiplexing configuration by, for example, setting the length of an UL TTI to zero or assigning multiple UEs resources in the same DL TTI. Latency may also be reduced by employing block feedback, such as block hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. A UE may determine and transmit HARQ feedback for each transport block (TB) of a set of TBs, which may be based on a time duration of a downlink TTI.

Abstract: An example data structure for managing user equipment communications in a wireless communications system is presented, as well as methods and apparatuses configured to implement the data structure. For instance, the data structure may include a downlink subframe comprising two slots and including one or more quick downlink channels having a single-slot transmission time interval. In addition, the example data structure may include one or more resource element blocks each comprising one or more resource elements into which a frequency bandwidth is divided within one or both of the two slots, wherein each of the one or more resource element blocks comprises a control channel region or a data channel region. Furthermore, the example data structure may include one or more resource grants, located within one or more control channel regions, for one or more user equipment served by the one or more quick downlink channels.

Abstract: A sharing of common hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process space by multiple unlicensed spectrum component carriers is described. Because communication access is not guaranteed over the unlicensed spectrum, a set of component carriers in the unlicensed spectrum is assigned to share a common HARQ process space, such that uplink or downlink data will be transmitted over any one or more of the set of component carriers that clear a clear channel assessment (CCA) check. The receiver then provides a HARQ process response over the same HARQ process space using the grouped component carriers that share that common HARQ process space. Thus, any one or more of the set of component carriers sharing the common HARQ process space may both carry the transmitted data and carry the HARQ process response to the attempted data transmission.

Abstract: New radio (NR) transmission opportunity (TxOP) structure having flexible starting points are disclosed for wireless communications. When a typical listen before talk (LBT) procedure is performed, the transmitting node will not know ahead of time when the LBT will pass and, thus, when data transmissions can start. NR systems may include a mini-slot design for accommodating transmission units smaller than a slot. Aspects of the present disclosure provide for flexibly increasing the number of potential starting transmission boundaries depending on when the LBT pass is detected. Alternative aspects of the present disclosure determine the potential starting transmission points using a mini-slot based design, a floating slot based design, or a punctured slot based design with a code block group (CBG) level retransmission mechanism.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining a transport block size include identifying data to be transmitted on an uplink, wherein the data is associated with a number of resource blocks. The methods and apparatus further include receiving at least one indicated coefficient via a downlink control information. Additionally, the methods and apparatus include determining at least one coefficient based on the at least one indicated coefficient and calculating a transport block size column index based on the number of resource blocks and the at least one coefficient. Moreover, the methods and apparatus include determining the transport block size based at least in part on the transport block size column index. The methods and apparatus may transmit the data on the uplink based at least in part on the transport block size.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. One method for wireless communication at a base station includes contending for access to a shared channel of a shared radio frequency spectrum band, and multiplexing first component carrier (CC) communication windows and second CC communication windows in the shared channel. A duration of orthogonal frequency domain multiplexed (OFDM) symbols of the first CC communication windows may be different from a duration of OFDM symbols of the second CC communication windows, and the multiplexing may occur on the shared channel upon winning contention for access to the shared channel. One method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring a shared channel of a shared radio frequency spectrum band for a first CC Listen Before Talk (LBT) frame, and receiving, in a second CC preamble, an indication of the first CC LBT frame.

A second method includes transmitting one or more assignments of uplink resources to use for an uplink transmission in a shared radio frequency spectrum band; detecting a duration of the uplink transmission; and identifying uplink resources used for the uplink transmission based at least in part on the detecting.
