Abstract: Techniques for uplink transmission management in a wireless communications system are described herein. An example method may include receiving an explicit uplink grant that indicates one or more implicit uplink grants. In an aspect, the example method may include performing a first clear channel assessment (CCA) in response to the explicit uplink grant in a first time slot. In another aspect, the example method may include, if the first CCA fails, sequentially performing one or more additional CCAs respectively in one or more time slots subsequent to the first time slot in response to the one or more implicit uplink grants, and transmitting the PDU over the unlicensed or shared spectrum and in a time slot subsequent to the time slot in which one of the one or more additional CCAs succeeds.

Abstract: Random access channel (RACH) configurations for new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) networks are disclosed. A base station may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure on a shared communication channel at a beginning of a discovery measurement timing configuration (DMTC) window. In response to a successful LBT, the base station may transmit synchronization signals over a plurality of directional beams according to a predetermined sequence. The user equipment (UE) may determine the predetermined sequence through the detected synchronization signals. The base station may signal configuration of additional random access resources when the LBT procedure delays beyond dedicated random access resources. The base station may then monitor for UEs to transmit random access signals from each direction corresponding to directional beams within the additional random access resources according to the predetermined sequence.

Abstract: A discovery measurement timing configuration (DMTC) window reservation signal is disclosed for new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) networks. The DMTC window is defined providing a reserved location for transmission of essential control signaling and potentially high priority traffic that may be transmitted in a prioritized manner. Access within the DMTC window may be provided with a clear channel assessment (CCA) exempt transmission (CET) option or a non-CET option. When the CET option is used, the reservation duration and period may be conveyed through the channel reservation signal. User equipments (UEs) that detect the reservation signal may re-transmit with added offset to inform neighboring base station that may not be within range of the serving base station. Base station that receive either the transmitted or re-transmitted reservation signal will refrain from communications that may interfere with the reception at the UEs.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes identifying a first interval for an uplink transmission in a shared radio frequency spectrum band; identifying a second interval for the uplink transmission; comparing the first interval with the second interval; and determining uplink resources to use for the uplink transmission based at least in part on the comparison of the first interval with the second interval. A second method includes transmitting one or more assignments of uplink resources to use for an uplink transmission in a shared radio frequency spectrum band; detecting a duration of the uplink transmission; and identifying uplink resources used for the uplink transmission based at least in part on the detecting.

Abstract: Interference management with a coloring concept is discussed. A target transmitter may obtain a first priority schedule for a transmission opportunity of the target transmitter, wherein the first priority schedule identifies transmission priority for a plurality of base station groups. Each of the base station groups may include one or more base stations that are grouped according to various transmission criteria. The target transmitter will identify data for transmission and monitor the medium sensing slots corresponding to each of the base station groups for a medium reservation signal. The highest priority medium reservation signal may be determined out of any medium reservation signals detected during the monitoring, The highest priority medium reservation signal is determined according to the first priority schedule. Once identified, the data is transmitted by the target transmitter when the highest priority medium reservation signal corresponds to the target transmitter.

Abstract: According to the present disclosure, CSI and/or a plurality of ACKs related to a group of DL data transmissions may be buffered at the UE as a GACK until a DCI trigger is received from the eNB. Once the trigger is received, the UE may transmit the CSI and/or GACK to the eNB. In this way HARQ feedback and/or CSI may be reliably communicated while reducing payload. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus send, to a UE, data transmissions associated with a first plurality of downlink subframes. In an aspect, the apparatus increments a counter for each data transmission sent to the UE. In a further aspect, the apparatus transmits, to the UE, a first trigger for a first GACK when a counter is greater than or equal to a threshold.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and system for requesting access to resources for uplink communications in unlicensed spectrum. In particular, a user equipment (UE) may detect one or more of a first type of data or a second type of data to be transmitted to a base station (BS). The UE may then determine if a first type of physical random access channel (PRACH) resource is available for transmitting one or more of the first type of data or the second type of data to the BS. If the first type of PRACH resource is available, then the UE may transmit one or more of the first type of data or the second type of data using the first type of PRACH resource. If the first type of PRACH resource is not available, then the UE may transmit the second type of data using a second type of PRACH resource.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes receiving a transmission including a paging group indicator and an indication of a time window. The transmission may be received at a user equipment (UE) over an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The first method may also include monitoring, based on the paging group indicator, the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band during the time window to receive an asynchronous paging message from a base station. A second method includes transmitting the transmission over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band; performing a number of clear channel assessments (CCAs) on the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band during the time window; and transmitting the paging message over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band at a transmission time during the time window. The transmission time may be based on a result of at least one of the CCAs.

Abstract: A data structure for managing user equipment communications in a wireless communication system is presented. In some examples, the data structure may include one or more resource element blocks into which a frequency bandwidth of a downlink channel is divided within a symbol that defines a transmission time interval in a downlink subframe. Furthermore, the data structure may include a control region and a data region within at least one resource element block of the one or more resource element blocks. Additionally, the data structure may include a downlink resource grant, located within the control region, for a user equipment served by the downlink channel. In an additional aspect, a network entity and method for generating the example data structure are provided.
