    Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In an aspect, the apparatus may configure at least a first resource set and a second resource set for a control channel. The first and second resource sets may be configured with a common reference signal configuration. The apparatus also configures first rate-matching parameters for the first resource set and second rate-matching parameters for the second resource set. Then, the apparatus transmits the first rate-matching parameters and the second rate-matching parameters and transmits the control channel using the first resource set and the second resource set.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication in a system that supports enhanced carrier aggregation (eCA). An eCA configuration with a large number of component carriers (CCs) may include CCs grouped into channel state information (CSI) reporting groups. Channel state reports for the CCs in each group may be reported together. In some cases, individual CC reports may be multiplexed into a single report, and in other cases a single channel state report may contain information related to each CC in the group. The combined reports may be transmitted over an uplink control channel or an uplink data channel, or both. Collisions between reports may be resolved based on the reporting type of the groups or the serving cell indices of the CCs in the group.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) to a user equipment (UE) in a control region of a shortened transmission time interval (sTTI) using an aggregation level or control channel element (CCE) structure, which may depend or vary based on characteristics of the sTTI. For instance, the CCE structure or the aggregation may vary based on a type of reference signal and/or on an sTTI index because the sTTI index may correspond to the number of resource elements available for DCI within the sTTI. The control region of the sTTI may include transmissions of cell-specific reference signals (CRSs), demodulation reference signals (DMRSs), or channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs). The number of resource elements available for DCI within the control region may depend on whether such reference signals are present or on whether CRS-based or DMRS-based demodulation is employed.

    Abstract: Techniques for monitoring for control information in sets of downlink control channel resources are described, where multiple sets of downlink control channel resources may overlap. The described techniques include monitoring for one or more search spaces in a set of downlink control channel resources by rate matching downlink control channel resources independently of other sets of downlink control channel resources. Alternatively, overlapping sets of downlink control channel resources may be rate-matched accounting for reference signals of overlapping sets of downlink control channel resources.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for indicating a modulation coding scheme (MCS) in LTE are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information (DCI) from an evolved Node B (eNB) that includes an uplink grant of resources. The DCI may be configured and have a format that conveys an MCS table reference. The UE may identify the MCS table reference and, based on the reference, identify a legacy MCS table or a non-legacy MCS table. The legacy MCS table may be associated with quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) up to a first order, and the non-legacy MCS table may be associated with QAM up to a second order, the second order being higher than the first order. The UE may modulate and code information for uplink transmissions using the identified MCS table.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for improved scheduling and/or scheduling configuration. A base station may receive, from a user equipment (UE), an indication of one or more UE capabilities. The base station may determine, based on the one or more UE capabilities, when a grant to be transmitted is usable by the UE. The base station may transmit the grant to the UE, the grant including an assignment of resources based on when the grant is usable. In some examples, a UE may identify one or more UE capabilities in association with different grant characteristics and transmit, to a base station, an indication of the one or more UE capabilities. The UE may receive, from the base station, a grant having one of the different grant characteristics and including an assignment of resources, the assignment of resources based on the one or more UE capabilities.
