Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication systems configured to provide techniques for strategically placing a sounding reference signal (SRS) within a slot to improve the decoding timeline. Aspects of the disclosure further relate to wireless communication systems configured to optimize the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) search space within a slot to improve the decoding timeline. Features may also include placing the SRS near the end of the slot, such as after the uplink user data traffic and the corresponding uplink demodulation reference signal (DMRS). In addition, features may also include identifying the PDCCH search space within the slot based on at least a slot index of the slot. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

In a particular aspect of the disclosure, a different encoding sequence is assigned to each possible value of an information element (IE) such that a minimum distance between encoding sequences corresponding to any pair of possible values is maximized. A symbol corresponding to a particular value of the IE is then transmitted. Abstract: In some circumstances, a URLLC may preempt resource. An apparatus may be configured to receive a set of resource blocks from a base station including at least one of eMBB data or URLLC data in a PDSCH. The apparatus may receive a URLLC indicator from the base station. The URLLC indicator may be received embedded within the URLLC data or received separate from the URLLC data within DCI of a PDCCH. The URLLC indicator indicates whether the set of resource blocks includes at least part of the URLLC data. The apparatus may determine, based on the URLLC indicator, whether the set of resource blocks includes the URLLC data and processing the set of resource blocks based on a result of determining whether the set of resource blocks includes the URLLC data.

In one aspect, the apparatus may receive information associated with a narrowband TDD frame structure. The apparatus may also transmit an uplink transmission a predetermined number of times using a first scrambling sequence. In one aspect, the first scrambling sequence may be determined using a first number of least significant bits (LSBs) associated with a first radio frame. In another aspect, the first number of LSBs may be larger than a second number of LSBs used in a second scrambling sequence associated with a narrowband frequency-division duplex (FDD) uplink transmission.
