    摘要: A method and system for remote control of self-propelled vehicles includes a leader vehicle and at least one follower vehicle located behind the leader vehicle. The leader vehicle traverses a waypoint, determines a first set of GPS coordinates corresponding to the waypoint, and transmits the first set of GPS coordinates to the follower vehicle. The follower vehicle determines a second set of GPS coordinates corresponding to its own position and compares the first set of GPS coordinates to the second set of GPS coordinates. By controlling steering, drive and braking systems of the follower vehicle with a servo-actuator, the follower vehicle is guided toward the waypoint by minimizing the difference between the first and second sets of GPS coordinates. This process is repeated at a succession of waypoints such that the follower vehicle traverses the same course as the leader vehicle.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for establishing and utilizing electronic tracks on roads for ground vehicles so as to ease the driving task with added safety and efficiency. Electronic tracks define traces on roads guiding the movement of a ground vehicle in as much as the same way that railroad tracks confine the movement of a train. Speed control can be achieved by using equipments detecting the driving conditions and the road environment along with the gliding action of the ground vehicle on electronic tracks. Automation in driving is thus possible, at least partially. Electronic map can be constructed consisting of many of the electronic tracks. Based upon both the static and dynamic information on roads, an electronic map is able to configure an optimal route connecting two addresses with the shortest time in traveling.

    摘要: The behavior of the bogie of a muliple-axle vehicle is monitored. Accelerations of at least two axles of the bogie are measured with acceleration sensors allocated to the axles. The sensor signals are subjected to a Fourier transformation in FFT units. The frequency profiles resulting from the Fourier transform are compared with profiles that are stored in memory. Differences that are detected are compared with threshold values and messages are correspondingly sent to the system that controls the vehicle. The monitoring system allows mechanical operating errors of the bogie to be detected independently of effects caused by the running surface upon which the vehicle travels.

    摘要: An emergency control system permits an aircraft to recover from a catastrophic loss of cabin pressure even if the pilot becomes incapacitated before he is able to activate an emergency oxygen system. An autopilot system is programmed for rapid descent, in response to a cabin depressurization condition detected by an air pressure sensor, to a flight level where there is sufficient oxygen in the atmosphere to sustain full consciousness. When in the rapid descent mode, the autopilot cuts engine power to idle, reduces the angle of attack, maximizes parasitic drag, and initiates a maximum descent rate without exceeding the aircraft's design limitations. As the aircraft approaches a lower altitude capable of sustaining full human consciousness, the autopilot system increases the angle of attack, reduces parasitic drag, and increases engine power, thereby causing the aircraft to fly level at the lower altitude until the pilot reasserts control of the aircraft.
